Do you like it? I like it a lot, Paul McCartney still has it in him to write really interesting music. Your thoughts?

This question was asked on here a few weeks ago, and I guess you could say that the fluther reviews were “mixed”.
Using CD Universe, I listened to 30-second clips of all of the songs and honestly wondered whether this is presently the best that someone with all of McCartney’s talent, resources, and available time can do….
The newest Paul McCartney album I have listened to has the track Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five on it.
I have heard 2 songs from the new one, and hated them both.
Too bad. I am a Beatle fan from the Ed Sullivan days.
A couple of weeks ago I asked if anyone else liked the song “Queenie Eye” as much as I did. Most of the comments related to the video rather than to the song itself. I still like both but confess I haven’t listened to anything else from the album.
Pachy, I admire McCartney as much as anyone, but trust me on this….I think that you ( and so do I ) like the only pretty good song on this album…..
(Sorry, Paulie)
I’m more a John/George fan, personally.
I haven’t heard the new Paul stuff, but to be honest, the man left 64 in the dust ages ago, and I’m done feeding him.
Paul was my favorite Beatle when they exploded onto the the scene. However, I must confess, I am not a fan of his stuff sans Beatles, save for a couple of songs. Don’t get me wrong, I have tremendous respect for him, but I really liked George Harrison and John Lennon’s solo works far better than Paul’s. I cannot explain what it is that bugs me about his stuff. When I do hear a song I like, its grand, and there are a few.
I’m happy to hear he is still a dynamic artist. What I love most about Paul is his sense of humor.
Lennon gave The Beatles a little ‘grit’.... a little sarcastic edge. I found some of Paul’s solo stuff with Wings and in the early 80s a little annoying, I think because you could hear Linda in there sometimes.
Many people think that George Harrison gave us the best solo work, and I find it hard to disagree.
Richard Starkey is clearly the luckiest man who ever lived….
P.S. If you’ve never heard it, do yourself a favor and D/L Lennon’s cover of ‘Do You Wanna Dance ?’
Famous 70’s joke:
What do you call a dog with wings?
Linda McCartney.
Was really hoping for an honest review here but it seems I must look elsewhere. When I used to purchase “albums”, it was rare I listened to anything I liked immediately. I heard such positive things about McCartney’s latest release that I thought I might purchase the cd. Haven’t got around to it yet, so I’ll have to submit a review later.
