Has any one made or used a fresh comfrey poultice made from the root or leaves or both?

Specifically for a fracture but possibly for sprains? How did you make the poultice? How exactly did you use it and for how long? Any information along these lines would be most welcome.

Nothing like a fracture.
I used it post-partum. My midwife made comfrey tea, with which I soaked Poise pads, and used them frozen to reduce the inflammation from a traumatic delivery.
Well, it felt pretty good. I mean, it was serious bruising, and I was putting ice on it. I can’t say more than anecdotally that putting comfrey tea ice on my bruise helped.
I do think it smells nice, though.
I haven’t but one of my naturopaths told me she did. My memory is foggy on the details.
She said she knew she could treat it better then an md so she wrapped it in comfrey poultices at least once a day.
She said setting it was the hardest but once that was done the rest was easy. She said it healed much more quickly and she had no lingering ill effects. She feels nothing in weather changes and it is as strong ad it once was.
Of course this is secondary info. And she moved to az so I can’t even ask her about the details. But I do put comfrey calendula and arnica linements on all my physical pains from.bruises cuts on up. It is very helpful.
