Are there any Thanksgiving type songs?
After tomorrow the air will be filled with Christmas music. Until then…..are there any songs that can be thought of as “Thanksgiving” songs?

Yes! Check these out. Some are actually a stretch.
My favorite is the most traditional one: #2 on the above list, “We Gather Together”. It’s an old hymn.
@2davidc8 , “We Gather Together” was the first thing that came to mind before I even read the expanded version of the question, lol.
thanks @2davidc8
I really liked “Thanksgiving Song” – Mary Chapin Carpenter
and I forgot about the one by Adam Sandler….always a favorite of mine.
“We Gather Together” was the only one that came to mind.
I’ve always loved the second and third lines, without understanding a word.
We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known.
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.
It’s Turkey Time was written and sang by a couple of DJ’s in my area. It’s kinda cute and catchy. The song starts at about the 1:19 mark if you want to fast forward past the newscast about the song.
“Let’s Go Shoot Tom Turkey” will always be a classic…
Heck, xmas music is already started up on the radio here, just like Halloween decorations started going up in September! If retailers have their way—and they always do—the autumn holidays will be a year ‘round promotion.
Adam Sandler’s song was the first that came to my mind.
Turkey with gravy and cranberry
Can’t believe the Mets traded Darryl Strawberry
Turkey for you and
Turkey for me
Can’t believe Tyson
Gave that girl V.D.
(No charge, my friends….)
I bet they’re all like listening to nuns with acoustic guitars, served with a large portion of cheese.
“Over the River and Through the Wood” is a Thanksgiving song.
”....to Grandmother’s house we go”...?? THAT one ?
Yeah, ‘Grandmother’ came to MY house this year. No sweet-old-lady-in-an-apron, this one.
I’d like to strap her to a sleigh and smack those horses REALLY hard…
