A Thanksgiving blessing, if I were to offer one who would get offended over that?

^^ I am not white, in fact many of my forefathers backs were bruised creating this nation of which they enjoyed little for their labor; just saying, I am not one of those “white devils”, as you say ;-)

I am sure it would depend on the way it is worded, and what deities you may infer.

regarding Indian survival, a lot of people I know have Indian blood. I am part Sioux, and my wife is part Cherokee.

Keep it simple. Like, “Hope you all have a very happy and safe holiday!”

There’s really no need to announce that you’re praying on our behalf, is there? Saying that you’re doing it doesn’t increase the effectiveness of a prayer, does it? So you could just pray on our behalf, and keep it to yourself; no risk of causing offense then.

We’ve covered this many times before. The non-religious members of Fluther are by and large not offended by being told “Merry Christmas” in December, “God bless you” when we sneeze, or “I’ll pray for you” when something bad happens. We understand that it is how others express their well-wishes. Similarly, most of the religious members of Fluther do not get offended when others say “happy holidays” or use some other neutral saying instead.

But as @thorninmud notes, you could just say the prayer on your own. Matthew 6:5, you know.

@Hypocrisy_Central I would not take offense in the slightest bit. In fact, I would think the opposite. I think that is very kind and thoughtful that you would want to say a blessing for us all!
I hope you all had a terrific Thanksgiving spent with family and/or friends! I always love this time of year to be able to spend time with family and friends.

There is no need to say anything when a person sneezes, or caugh but we do, it is an expression of communucation. I can’t say if it adds any to the pray if the reciever does nothing, but then we tell people good luck on their trip and in reality it does nothing but it is a kind gesture for the person to know they are thought of.
