Computers are here to stay. Almost everyone is using them one way or another.

How has this modern invention changed the world we live in?

People are meeting their mates online. People use GPS instead of maps. I do all of my Christmas shopping online and pay all of my bills online. Kids game online instead of going outside to play.

An easier question would be in what ways has the computer not affected your life.

I like the fact that it is indeed personal. No 2 desktops are alike and I can blend my personality in to the look and application process. It’s like a piece of me. All my interests and activities are right here! I think it’s pretty cool!

My life revolves around the computer. I depend on it for entertainment, calling my friends and relatives, bank transactions, online shopping, daughter’s projects, recipes etc. The list can go on.

Fluther addicted.

In touch with relatives I never knew even existed, and back in touch with friends I have not seen since I was a little girl.

Since I’ve became computer literate a day hasn’t gone by when it hasn’t been used. At home it may be the first appliance turned on in the morning and the last to go off at night.

Shopping, banking, music, movies, videos ya da ya da ya da….

It’s all there with a click of the mouse.

Thank you for answering my question.

None of us would be here to answer your question if it wasn’t for personal computers.

I can hardly imagine my life without a computer. I wish I could have demonstrated a computer to myself as a kid. I would have been bewitched by it.

My career always involved lots of creative writing, and I started out using a typewriter (actually, I was proficient on the typewriter from the age of 12 or 13). From the mid-80’s on, word processors and then computers drastically changed my writing and editing process, and more than that, changed my creative process.
