What's your average responses-per-day on Fluther?

Asked by gailcalled (54647points) December 5th, 2013

In honor of today being the seventh anniversary of my joining the collective (part of the original beta) I did the math. 35,616 responses over 2557 days ( 7 years, 2 of them leap) means an average of 13.9 responses/daily. (As a contrast, I have asked 504 questions. That’s only 72 a year.) Still, am I spending too much time here? Does weighing my being seriously house-bound since late Sept. an excuse? Who holds the record? Should there be a prize?

I know that I’m here too often, because recently, you made an oblique reference to a user’s posts-per-day and I’ve been dreading being called out by this question ever since. That said, my average is lower than yours, but I miss your input when you’re not here. ;)

rebbel's avatar

Hey Gail!
4.2
But considering that twice in the four and a half years since I joined I took a sabbatical couple of months, that average 4.2 should maybe be 4.37….

And yeah, you definitely deserve some kind of prise.

gailcalled's avatar

@glacial: I did? I am oblique? How exciting? What did I say? Am I repeating myself? (is there an echo here?) What’s too often? Sez who (or whom)? Whatever I have said since Sept. 23, I can blame squarely on being seriously medicated.

glacial's avatar

@gailcalled Will you share? Alas, I can’t remember the context of the comment, only that it gave me an anticipatory frisson.

gailcalled's avatar

@glacial: Is providing you with an anticipatory frisson more or less sexy than being oblique? Two of the more interesting compliments I have received in years.

(i’ll share anything with you, babe).

glacial's avatar

@gailcalled Ha! I’m not sure, but if I ever observe anyone displaying an oblique frisson, I will probably recommend that they seek medical attention.

I had a pretty big hiatus on this account. It was about a year.

dxs is 988 days old.

In total, I have an average of:
2.112 answers per day
0.0233 questions per day

After the gap, which started on September 16th, 2012, I have had an average of:
3.100 answers per day
0.0292 questions per day

Before the gap, which ended on June 30th, 2011 (disredarding the July 17th, 2011, outlier), I had an average of:
6.811 answers per day
0.0849 questions per day

You should also consider the difference in the total amount of time for each set of data.

I’m almost up to my five year anniversary.

1820 days on Fluther.
113 Questions
11,663 Responses

6.4 responses per day. Whew, I thought that number would be much higher. I did lose about a year, though, when I was relatively homeless.

YARNLADY's avatar

Mine is a little less than 14 per day over l,720 days. I have cut way back from my earlier years.

Happy anniversary @gailcalled!

Bon Anniversaire, Gail!! (Or is it Bonne?)

glacial's avatar

@janbb We could just skip it and sing a verse of “Gens du pays”.

I’ve been here 2,531 days and posted 5,557 comments (although this is my first of the evening), so I’m averaging just over 2 per day. There have been months where I haven’t checked in at all, though.

My 5 year Flutherversary will be in 6 days. I joined in 2008. That would be approx. 1823 days (give or take a day or two)

15130 responses.
8.2 per day (this number reminds me why I like to take breaks. I tend to spend too much time here.)

Happy Flutherversary Gail!

Gods, am I that bad at math?

Four years, not five.

Whatever, not breaking out the calculator again.

@Seek_Kolinahr: Since you joined on Dec. 11, 2009 that is only 3 days shy of 4 years, I did the math. it’s about 8 posts-per-day.

@dxs: @marinelife is this minute at 31, 451 responses.

^lol, wow, I screwed that up!

^^ That would put you in your twenties at about the time Edward the Confessor was crowned King of England. I would like to offer my services as your agent. You’re going to need one.

I messed-up my math, too… I shouldn’t try to do math after a long day at work.
I have an iPhone app that calculates number of days, and when I opened it just now, it had my Fluther join date (Monday, July 9, 2007) still on it from whenever the last time was that we did our stats.

Corrected information:
2,342 Days on Fluther, 5,560 Comments (2.37/day), 25 Questions (0.01/day).

dxs's avatar

@marinelife I was close! I can’t see your responses but that’s a lot.

gailcalled's avatar

@glacial: Thanks for introducing me to Gens du Pays but it’s just too nice. I’d choose Chevaliers de la Table Ronde.

or as a second choice, Joyeux enfants de la Bourgogne.

Blondesjon's avatar

1808 Days (I joined on Christmas Day 2008)
9,974 Responses.

Unfortunately the math doesn’t work in my case.

None of my responses are average.

chyna's avatar

I’ve been here since 2008 or 1,941 days.
Responses = 14,378 or 7.40 per day.
Questions = 232 or .11 per day.

hug_of_war's avatar

Less than 1 answer per day

gailcalled's avatar

^^ Jeez. Someone with a life.

Smitha's avatar

I’ve been here 44 days( joined on October 25th ).
Total responses = 619, So 14.06 per day.
But asked just one question so far.

Buttonstc's avatar

Just reading the calculations in these answers makes my hair hurt.

I hate Math and its just not my thing so anybody sufficiently interested in my stats, feel free to figure it out and post. I have no idea :)
