What are some resources for a mentaly, and emotionaly damaged HOMELESS man?
My life has been crumbling under my feat. I’ll spare the details, but long story short, I am about to be homeless in Minneapolis.
I’m to say the least a bit panicked, and don’t know where to begin. What types of services are available? Where do I find them? Etc.?
Thank you all for pointing me in the right direction!

Here’s a list to start
I know it’s not fun but if you are motivated and get help early I’m sure they will be able to help you with housing and employment services too.
I once had to call a charity to feed my kids. I remember feeling guilty because of the neighborhood I was in. In the end we do what we have to do.
I hope you get help quickly and that you don’t have to sleep on the streets during this unusually harsh winter.
Find Social services, local churches, food kitchens, and keep all of your stuff in a local storage shelter, find winter clothing.
Also- check your local library. Sometimes they have an area that’s full of fliers for local government services. Good luck.
Here is a big list to wade through. This is all minneapolis based.
Here is a list of shelters and emergency housing
Here is a list of MN mental health services.
I hope you get some help soon. I really do.
My heart goes out to you. Mpls would be a bad place to be homeless. I was homeless, in the NW. It took alot out of me. I am praying for you.
National Alliance for the mentally ill website can help a lot. God bless.

Hope you find a way to support yourself and start to rebuild your life soon.
If you are able, please keep us updated as to where you go and what happens. Worrying about people like you and what becomes of you keeps me up at night. I really want to know that you have a roof over your head and food in your belly! Don’t be to proud to accept help. Remember. It’s more blessed to give than to receive. A truly humble person won’t deprive the giver of a blessing.
Show gratitude and don’t waste the gift. Make the most of the resources available to get your life back on track. Stay in touch!
