Is it strange to look foreward to Monday?

Asked by DWW25921 (6498points) December 8th, 2013

I’ve got a lot of stuff to do that I just can’t get done over the weekend and it would be nice to get it out of the way. I guess it’s different having my own businesses rather than working for someone else where I would dread getting work piled up in the beginning of the week. I just can’t get anything done on a Sunday and it’s driving me nuts! Anyone feel me?

I’ve never been anxious to return to work. The last time I was anxious for a Monday, we were leaving for vacation on that day.

@Juels I’d love a vacation! Can’t do it now though. I feel that anticipation though!

No, but it’s a strange way to spell forward.

I used to, when I got to see a certain someone every week.

@ucme Bah… Silly mistake.

@yankeetooter Intriguing! Go get ‘em!

When my son was very young, I worked on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays… after being with a young, active infant and toddler on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I was usually eager to go back to work and have adult interactions. I do not have a good temperament or personality to be a stay-at-home mom.

No, but I’d be happy to feel you if you can’t find someone else.

I love Monday. The psychology of the “work week” being what it is, Monday is always sort of a do over- a fresh start. A great opportunity to redeem oneself for the previous week’s procrastination.

@DWW25921…they’re “ungettable” (and unforgettable)...and they’re moving away.

I do on occasion. Though I try to enjoy the day in front of me then wishing my days away. Weekends are for sleeping in relaxation social and getting ready for the week ahead. Sometimes writing a list and setting everything up for maximum efficiency allows me to be able set aside the anticipation and move into… Zen.

@gailcalled I live in West Virginia and we’re not cousins… So that would be strange.

@yankeetooter Loosing people is hard to take. Trust me on this… I know…

@Unbroken Relaxing… I should give that a try.

I totally depends on why. Most days are exactly the same to me, so I don’t exactly look forward or dread any of them. The exception is that I get my two little grandsons on the weekend, and they go home on Sunday night, which is alway sad for me.

I was partly anxious for today to get here. The sooner I start finals, the sooner I’ll be done. Also, I’m waiting for word on a second interview for a job I really want.

It depends on what is happening in that week, and what has happened in the previous week. Also, if there’s something particularly awesome or dreadful happening on a Monday (or any other day), I look forward to it or shy away from it. I think that drives what I look forward to more than just a days-of-the-week approach.

@livelaughlove21 I was like that this week too actually. I’m done school tomorrow so I just wanted this week to start so I could get it over with already.

@28lorelei I’m like that when I don’t have school since I have a random work schedule every week. During school however Monday just sucks cause it means another week of classes lol
