I stand up for what I believe in, even if it’s not popular. I’m very honest, brutally so at times, and I always try to defend the underdog, if through no fault of their own they are penalized.

@DWW25921 If I wasn’t me, i’d be super pissed & really rather jealous that I wasn’t me.

@ucme I’m very pleased as well. We should start an “outstanding specimen of humanity” club so that others may gaze upon us in awe.

I have developed very good coping skills and am able to handle most difficult situations without getting overly flustered. I can keep pretty good perspective on what is a big deal and what really isn’t. This was not always true.

I like that my interests lie in a broad set of categories. I am a computer science major, a math fanatic, a painter, a birder, and a stand-up comedian, among other “hats” I wear. I spread myself thin and am not a master of any one of those things, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am extremely enthusiastic about life and I think it’s contagious to the people around me.

I have many flaws too, but I am getting better at focusing on positives.

I managed to stay as anti authority and rebelious as I was in my teens, and don’t feel like I “sold out” on anything.

One thing I really like is my ability to get along with almost anyone; any time my friends would tell me they “hate” someone, I could see where they were coming from, but chances are I could get along fine with the person they claimed to hate. I don’t like disliking people; I like giving them a chance, probably more than a lot of people I know do.

Also, what @Mariah said about broad interests: first and foremost my passion in language and linguistics, but I’m also interested in photography, mountain biking, geography and maps, history (particular medieval and Roman), etc. I like that I can read textbooks for fun; I like that I have enough interests in enough categories that it’s difficult for me to be bored.

That I am good person. I am caring and I do what I can to help others.

I like my laugh, it sounds good feels good and makes others laugh. When I was a child I rarely laughed and it sounded awful so it may be a silly thing to pop into my head but it means a lot.

Actually I like my ability to laugh in the face of some pretty godawful situations. To see humor and grace in small things.

I also like that I enjoy learning.

That I am deeply committed to those with severe disabilities, who others may see as having nothing valuable to share, or having no emotion, or not being a person really. I am really shy and rarely do I speak up, but I always will for my students who cannot speak for themselves

That I never change. At least it feels that way to me.

I don’t get hung up on little things.

I seem to be a pretty good teacher, I’m loyal, and I can stay calm in difficult situations.

I can bullshit myself pretty well.

I am peaceful and care very deeply for people in my life.

Courage, resiliency and a deeply caring soul.

I don’t conform to please others but I also don’t avoid conforming (if it will benefit me) just to appear “unique”.

I am caring (too much sometimes), always do what I say I am going to do, I am compassionate (also sometimes to a fault).
I think they are the good qualities but get me in trouble sometimes too.

My father was a pistol and I’m a son of a gun.
