Has anyone been pleasantly surprised by the unexpected hearing of an old song you used to love recently?

I’ve just started using the Pandora website, I’m really enjoying songs I haven’t heard for years, today it was Brandy by Looking Glass, I’d completely forgotten about this song and enjoyed listening to it again so much. Anyone had a similar experience?

One night I fell asleep with the tv on. I woke up. It came on to Don Kirshner’s show and Eric Carmen was doing a version of All By Myself. Gave me chills
Oh, that wasn’t recently.
Absolutely. Music is so amazing. Songs my mom used to play make me smile. I can sing along with all of them even though they are before my time.
My college roomate sent me a Bronski Beat song a couple years ago via facebook on youtube. She said she had just heard it and thought of me. I hadn’t heard it in 20 years probably.
I’d forgotten about that song @Adirondackwannabe, thanks for reminding me : ^)
@JLeslie It’s such a nice feeling when music makes me smile, gone but definitely not forgotten, the words come back so easily.
Just about every year I hear a Holiday song that reminds me of when I was young and my whole family lived nearby. This time it was Rocking Around The Christmas Tree.
Yep, came across an old cd, Bat out of Hell, and played “Paradise by the dashboard light” over and over. Love that song. “So now I’m prayin’ for the end of time…......”
I heard The Psychedelic Furs – Love My Way recently. That took me back to my early teens. Good memories for me.
@jonsblond Thanks for the video link, I remember hearing that song but I couldn’t have told you who sung it, nice video, that group just has to be British, David Bowie the lead singer’s inspiration for sure, would you agree?
I agree @Adagio. I think I still have an old cassette of theirs somewhere in the house. I was a huge fan of early 80s British bands. The Cure, The Smiths, Duran Duran, New Order, Depeche Mode. This was the soundtrack for my innocent early teen years. Then came the hair metal bands and the loss of my innocence.
Yes, the song Massachusetts by the Bee Gees. It got me rather emotional to be honest.
The very first concert I ever went to was Van Halen opening for Ted Nugent. Van Halen ripped off an awesome version of Running With The Devil, Ted leaped off the speakers to open and hit the first chords of Cat Scratch Fever while he was in the air, and then played an amazing Stormtroopin and Stranglehold. I still love hearing those songs.
OOooo! Stranglehold! Such a great song.
