If I am in New York, Queens would I be able to meet anybody from Fluther? Even better would I be able to visit the Fluther Headquarters?

There is no longer a Fluther HQ. It used to be in San Francisco. An informal meet-up is of course possible if people want to.
Does that mean the award for the HQ is null and void?
Yes. Fluther owners have moved on to other ventures. Luckily they hired the brilliant and formidable @Augustlan as site manager. She does not have an office.
One former Fluther member owns a wine bar in NYC, Brooklyn I think. Several members live in and around NYC.
@Eggie: If and when you visit Queens, send out an APB here and see what kind of response you get.
What if a predator is lured to my location….
There is that…once you get some positive responses, if you do, take it private. And plan to meet in a heavily populated and public place.
There have been several successful fluther mini-reunions reported here over the years.
I think probably about two dozen currently or formerly active jellies live in the tri-state area, so this is quite possible, if anyone is willing.
@marinelife BrookVin. @breedmitch managed (manages?) it but is not the owner, I think.
I just missed meeting up with a jellie a bit ago because of a message failure. And I’m in the sticks of NY, so anything’s possible.
I think you can get the Guacamole award by sending Auggie a letter (not an email, an actual letter). Check with her.
I just want guacamole, not an award by that name…
@Eggie – There have been Jelly meet-ups. I’ve only met one person from Fluther in-person; but I’ve gotten together with dozens of people that I’ve met on online social sites over the past several years.
I am about an hour or so outside of NYC; and might get together if the schedule permits. I can’t run around the city as I once did, because of some health limitations; but going through a museum or something like that could be fun.
johnpowell used to maintain an unofficial Jelly map on a Google map. People could give him a location and a name and he would plot it. It was pretty cool, but apparently he has abandoned the effort. The link – which still exists – has no points plotted (so there’s no point in providing that link), but since the data points existed in a spreadsheet…
I’ll say no more.
<——Predator! I’m known as the sea wasp of Fluther! ;-)
I always want to meet a Jelly, but as far as I know the closest Jelly is 300-ish miles. :(
@AshLeigh – I want to see Alaska, so when I finally make that trip, I will do my best to arrange a meet-up. The other option is when you got to college – have you determined where you’ll be going?
@hearkat, That would be the coolest ever :D
And I think I’d like to go to Illinois.
@AshLeigh: Perhaps we could meet up in Chicago. We enjoyed our visit there a few years ago, and would be willing to return. Or… of you ever get to NYC, NJ, or Philly, make sure you let me know in advance!
@Eggie I live in Boston but I’d be delighted to meet you some time when I come to New York. Let me know the next time your travels bring you the Boston.
Meeting me or sending something to me counts as visiting headquarters, these days. :)
@augustlan What do you want sent. PM me what and where. :-)
Knowing you, I’m afraid of what you’ll send! Haha.
Milo here: Auggie; I have several fabulous collections and am willing to share.. Just say the word. What’s mine is yours.
@Milo Please send me Gail.
Milo here:Gladly, although she has been whining alot the past three months.
@ETpro One member already sent me a whip, so you’ll have to come up with something else. :p
