Sorry in advance, but I periodically have this affliction.
At least it’s pleasant and easy to get the words too.
There’s nothing (much) worse that getting a song stuck in your head that you can’t remember the words too!
(I hope we get a new Wainwright III tune.)

Welcome to the Jungle, Guns n Roses.
No song is in my head right now, but I’m sure one will be after this question. lol
Brighton Beach March, a piece of music my school’s band performed many years ago.
Comfortably Numb – Pink Floyd
must be heading into one of my depressive stages, my business partner says he can tell when it is happening because I listen to “The Wall” repeatedly for days on end and it drives him crazy
I’ve had this one on my mind since I kissed the hubby good bye this morning. Don’t know why…
Never Let Me Go – Florence + The Machine
I am currently blissfully free of ear worms.
Um. it occurs to me that could be taken wrong. It is for earworm purposes only, no deeper hidden meanings. just to be clear.
I’ve been singing ‘Born to Run’ after seeing Jimmy Fallon’s spoof Gov Christie’s Traffic Jam .
Jimmy Fallon sure is talented.
And Gov. Christie sure is a jerk. “Lessons were learned.” Really?!?! You thought that was ok? But now you don’t? Really?!?!
The Banana Splits theme song.
tra la la! la la la la! tra la la! la la la la!
Supposedly, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is very good at removing earworms without creating new ones. I can’t really confirm for myself, however.
I would like to thank @Blondesjon for removing my earworm and replacing it with a childhood memory that makes me smile.
This haha.
A bit background story behind this choice: I suddenly had a mood for classic film noir recently. I just want everything noir-related! I’ve just downloaded “The Maltese Falcon” last night. Gotta check it out now!
The suckiest song ever now, after just hearing the the old 70’s duo The Captainn & Tenelle” ( Sp? ) are getting divorced after 38 years.
While the stupid news story rambled on they were playing that hideous tune, one hot wonder ” Love will keep us together.” Fracking gawd I must have a wee bit of the shrubbery and go drown myself in a hot shower now. make it stop! lol
Are you looking for Loudon or the daughter’s. They (the daughters) preform here all the time. I’m guessing Loudon. let me think on that.
Woke up this morning to “Ticket to Ride”
Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter
SORRY, kids. I lost this thread!
Thanks to all, I’ll ketchup.
Great! Now I’m singing Jimmy Fallon’s Chris Cristie song again!!!
I’ll post to the links?
@ucme I’d bought “Dookie” and I wasn’t too impressed. Then I heard an acoustic version of this song, and I’ve been a fan since.
@uberbatman Nice. I didn’t know the group or the groovy tune.
I’m hoping that @filmfann did NOT take the post in the wrong way!
Goledarn. @DWW25921. I truly do love the Bare Naked Ladies.
Haha, “an error occured during validation”…quite ironic when you think about it.
One of my goals in life is to memorize all of the lyrics of One Week.
@ibstubro Awesome. I don’t remember that episode. I’ll have to watch it tonight.
All yesterday and this morning it has been Jim Croce singing Operator. I have no idea why except for some reason the line “Isn’t that the way they say it goes” resonates with me at this time.
What a beautiful song, @rojo. Thanks for that.
Of course, just the word filled my head with song. My mood today, yours is better, but overall I give them both a big thumbs up.
Another two-fer!
Decidedly not not something I would have found without your guidance, but I enjoyed that, and celebrate the variety, @uberbatman.
Thanks.
@ibstubro I actually heard the song for the first time on NPR during a best of 2013 show :P
Don’t tell me that, @uberbatman. One day NPR had on a Tex-Mex salsa segment that was a hybrid and unlike anything I’d heard before. I was dying to hear more, but failed to follow through when I got home.
@dxs I would refer you to my answer to @filmfann 10 from the top.
And also grind my teeth at you for reposting something that I had out of my system….......until now!
Trailer for Rent – Pistol Annies
@ibstubro good one but this is the one I think of when I think of Neil Diamond
Better song, I agree, @rojo. I’m not a huge Diamond fan, as he seems to find too little joy in his own craft, and he tends to be too nearly ‘perfect’. Your song is a little more playful (+++), nice was just placed in my head by the radio.
:)
Darious Rucker is another that tends to be so perfect as to almost appear computer generated to me.
This one popped into my head about 3 am this morning. I have no idea why, I had to look it up to find out what it was, but the refrain is certainly catchy.
@keobooks I enjoyed that soooo much, I went on to watch the “Squirrels In My Pants” video as well. Well, I am set for the day and you did get the other one out of my head.
S to the I to the M to the P…................!
What a great song, @rojo! I wish I knew it well enough to have it stuck in my head.
@keobooks Your child has a rich life ahead.
All Kinds of Kinds – Miranda Lambert
After all of the talk about Shirley Temple, THIS is the song in my head now.
For some odd reason, when I think of Shirley Temple I think of THIS
I have no idea why, it has nothing to do with her that I am aware of.
@rojo And that song will forever remind me of this.
My sound is broken. I hope the sound works on the link and it isn’t some shitty YouTube poop version.
I HATE YOU @rojo !!! Now that song is stuck in MY head.
I find Miranda innovative and generally entertaining in a non-annoying way, @Leanne1986. I’ve had that song in my head for days before, and didn’t mind. We did have a time figuring out the whole cross-dressing drug your kids stanza, though!
I couldn’t finish your link, @keobooks. Jed and Honey Boo Boo have ruined it for me. I keep getting intermittent snippets of “On the Good Ship Lollipop”, and I’m good with that. As long as it’s not a loop.
Similar depth and vocal styling, @rojo #1.
Shirley’s rolling over in her…_Wait, she’s not buried yet… That’s just kinda wrong @dxs.
I don’t remember ELO being such…wooly boogers, @rojo. But, back then we were fed video, we didn’t access it.
Yeah, right, @keobooks. Like you didn’t disturb anyone with that Scrod fish link. lol
I’m not really sure why, but, I woke up with this song firmly stuck in my head.
Wow, it’s been too long since I revisited Rocky, @uberbatman. I usually have 2 tunes running in my head at once…sort of a long term default and a current loop. For years (decades maybe) Rocky was part of the default. As have been this and this. It’s like certain songs are my internal Muisac and when there’s a pause, they fill the void. I’ll have to see if I can find my copy of Rocky and get them back in play.
Thanks.
Oh, and he’s never long out of loop. 35 years after the original imbed.
@ibstubro Shortly after posting that link I came across this so yea, that’s been my morning :P . I get what you’re saying about a default. Similar to your Tom Leher song, I get this in my head.
Ah, I can’t listen to full albums on-line because I’m satellite. The other day I was running two songs in my head at the same time, transposed. Like my right brain was playing a different song than my left brain. One was the current country song “Winter Weather”. I don’t remember #2 at the moment, but it was vintage rock I believe.
This is my most typical. I kept at it until I finally found him on CD and had to order 2 of each…my brother had to have one, too. Maybe 15 years ago, so I’ve had my booster shot on those.
Everything is Awesome from the Lego Movie. It’s meant to be an inane song that gets stuck in your head. The previews were terrible, but the movie was great and worth watching IMO, btw.
Thanks but, @keobooks, I’ll pass on that techno-beat.
Probably on the movie, too, because I can’t stand Will Farrel. Although, if I didn’t have to look at him, I might tolerate it.
Funny this thread should be active this morning. Less then ½ hour ago my local (in a guys basement) radio station played a clip from Charles Mansion. Yes, the Helter Skelter Mansion. It didn’t stick in my head, but I found it remarkable, as in worthy of remarking on.
Still The Same ~ Bob Seager.
