What is/are some thing(s) you do that set you apart from the others, and what are people's opinion about you?
Based on my answer to this question. I stated that I don’t like any Korean films and I am more into Western crime dramas.
But speaking of Korean films, there is a trend toward Korean films among many young people of my age in my country. They watch Korean films more than anything else, especially dramas and romance comedies. The only things some watch are Korean films. Many watch too much that they even can recognize every actors and actresses. So you know the scenario: with my interest in Western crime dramas, I’m a total stranger. Some Korean crazed friends of mine think I’m a jerk. I don’t want to be considered a jerk, but I can’t change anything: I seem to be the only one who get sick of Korean films.
Is anyone here in a similar situation? If so, what is it? And what are people’s opinion about you?

I enjoy porn. Does that count?
I am from Alaska, and I do not smoke pot, and I have never had mononucleosis.
I try to seem unapproachable, so people will leave me alone. If I think someone is interesting enough for my time, I will approach them. I prefer it that way.
The best one I could think of was “I like semicolons.” I think this makes me the Least Interesting Woman in the World.
I don’t always make photocopies… but when I do, they’re double-sided.
I don’t always bring a bag lunch… but when I do, it’s wholesome and nutritious.
Ba-dum-tish.
I love pillows, I love horror movies, I don’t like wearing a bra and fuck what anyone has to say about any of that. Good or bad, I don’t give a shit.
Do you live in Korea? If so, why is it strange that people know the actors and actresses in Korean films? And more importantly, why would you be a “jerk” for liking something else?
Nothing sets me apart from everyone else. I blend into the crowd. People are rarely as unique as they think they are.
@livelaughlove21 No, I don’t live in Korea. The reason why people know the actors and actresses so well is that they watch so many Korean films.
And why I’m a jerk is what I can’t explain very clearly. I guess in a flock of white doves, a raven will stand out and be considered a “jerk”.
I’m fairly average and I’m good with that. Other than that, my friends find it strange that I think Michael Ironside is sexy.
@rojo Korean porn would count.
People’s opinions of me are none of my business.
That which sets me apart is my sense of adventure!
what is it with Korean stuff right now, I so don’t get it?
I’m a vegetarian, and that troubles a lot of people. I’m not a PITA member, I just choose not to eat meat.
I have not had a broadcast TV channel since some time in the 1990’s. The only time I have missed it was when the World Trade Center Towers came down. TV is the Black Hole of Time. 75% of it is trash, you spend 20% of your TV time looking for non-trash. Do the math. I do kind of miss commercials. There’s a reason kids are mesmerized by them!
I talk to strangers. Quite a bit. I’m willing to stop and give a stranger a hand, from a shopping tip to a ride.
I’m comfortable in ‘in my own skin’. I accept me for who I am, I appreciate those who agree, and I’m (largely) untroubled by those who do not. Popeye the Sailor Man: ”I yam what I yam!”
I’m generally not afraid to call out rudeness. Not my perceived rudeness, but someone taking advantage because of the inherent politeness of others.
There are more, but I’m getting dangerously close to “tooting my own horn”, even though I’m just thoughtfully answering your question.
