Should I go on with this Ebay purchase pick-up plan?
Hi. A fragile collectible statue I was selling on Ebay got sold and the buyer wants to pick it up tomorrow since she can drive over.
Never done this before and I called Paypal to ask if they won’t stop the payment she made if Ebay doesn’t get a notice it was shipped since there will be no tracking number in their system. Paypal said they won’t stop the payment from going through unless the seller stops it or I do.
I know there’s risk for me as seller but what if I take that risk, would you know what Ebay would do if I don’t enter a tracking number in their system-?
Is there a another way for me to confirm to Ebay that the buys got the item and everything went well-? In short, how do I make this work with Ebay without messing up my account-? Thanks-!

I saw on an ebay message board that you should have the buyer sign the bill of sale that they picked up the item in acceptable condition. Also, note their drivers license on the document as well. You should be able to change the transaction details in ebay to local pickup.
In the future, perhaps accept only cash for local pickups.
I was going to say have her sign some sort of receipt when you hand the item over.
I’ve met people who I purchased from locally and I’ve met people who have purchased from me locally also. Never had any problems, just meet them at a Starbucks in public for safety and it will be fine.
As a seller you should leave the item feedback last, so mark the item as shipped when you give them the items and wait for feedback from them.

What happened was I called Paypal and asked if they would allow my buyer’s payment to go through if I deviate from the norm and not ship. They said the only way they would stop payment is if the seller stops it or I refused it.
Then called Ebay and they instructed me to mark it shipped after the item was handed over to the buyer and ask the buyer to leave a positive feedback and that would take care of that.
We did meet at a Starbucks @cheebdragon. : )
