Is anyone else watching the Beatles special?

Asked by chyna (51598points) February 9th, 2014

I’ve always thought that I really didn’t like the Beatles, but so far I know each song by heart.
I’m impressed with this tribute to them.
What do you think of it?

No, but my father loved the Beatles. He’d be watching if he was still alive.

I’m recording it to watch later. I’m really looking forward to it.

It was excellent in my opinion.

It starts in 5 minutes
I will watch it. I remember when they were on Ed Sullivan. I am that old.

No. I’ve been there and done that and played the recordings too many times over the last 50 years.

I watched about 10 minutes, and had enough, though I am a huge Beatle fan.

Statistically likely.

Watched it off and on, interspersed with Olympics and Walking Dead. General impression favorable although the people in the audience seemed a little uncomfortable all dressed up listening to Beatles music.

Wish I had an idea who the other people playing the songs were.

Wondered how it must feel to be Paul Mc. or Ringo S. sitting and listening to their music while others performed it. Imagined it to be both gratifying and odd and out-of-place at the same time.

I became a lifelong Beatles fan the first time I heard “I Want to Hold Your Hand” in ‘64, but I purposely passed on this show because with all the Beatles stuff on TV and radio for the past few months, I’m kinda bored with all of it. I was living in NYC when they arrived and knew when I heard that first song they were something very different and important. But I don’t remember the hysteria. JKF has been killed only a few months before, and that’s what seemed to be the main topic of conversation in my circle.

Why we’ll never see the likes of Beatlemania again.

Watching rerun now and loving it. So good to hear the old songs sounding so fresh, and Sir Paul sounds and looks great!
