What is the next movie you're hyped for?

Asked by simone54 (7642points) June 30th, 2008

So, I’ve been looking forward to The Dark Knight just about since Batman Begins credits rolled. I don’t know what after that.

Dark Knight, and Hancock looks like it will be fun.

Trustinglife's avatar

The next Harry Potter movie – even though “hyped” is a little strong to describe my anticipation.

dragonflyfaith's avatar

Dark Knight. I thought I wanted to see Hancock but I don’t know. It looks like we’re finally having a good movie summer!

X-Files, all the way! God, I can’t wait…. 25 more days.

Magnus's avatar

Hancock and Wall-e, haven’t seen em yet. Pineapple-express. Oh and that new bond movie, trailer was sick!

Hellboy and X-files

shrubbery's avatar

Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Twilight, James Bond

willbrawn's avatar

dark knight, bond, harry potter, and narnia. And either iron man 2 or the avengers.

eambos's avatar

Oh yeah, Hellboy!

The Dark Knight

Possibly Hellboy II
who knows.

For the most part, however, Hollywood has left me vastly disappointed for the past few years.

TheHaight's avatar

Of course, Harry Potter!
He’s just not that into you, Dark Knight, The Wackness, and don’t make fun of me but… The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants!
:D

flameboi's avatar

I heard Jumper will eventually have a secuel, then I’m on, the dark night of course

shockvalue's avatar

HELLBOY II !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry

I’ve been waiting for years. A ton of my friends worked on it and they kept sending my sketches and photos and scripts. It took everything I had not to hibernate until the day it comes out.

Also, the dark knight is going to be raw.
Pineapple express too
Quantum of solace
And I really hope they don’t screw the avenger’s movie up.
I’ve had it with these motherf*uckin Samuel L. Jackson cameos in these motherf*uckin movies.

But most of all. Star Trek.

tinyfaery's avatar

X Files & Dark Night

willbrawn's avatar

ahh the new Star Trek!

jlm11f's avatar

what sites do you guys (or gals) use to see trailers? besides youtube? just curious

tinyfaery's avatar

apple website has trailers

joeysefika's avatar

The Dark Knight. My Batman shirt is ironed and ready to go!

Trustinglife's avatar

@PnL, that’s a great question – I was just watching trailers and had a hard time finding certain ones. Will you turn that into its own question?

jlm11f's avatar

@ TL – done :)

jballou's avatar

http://movies.yahoo.com has trailers in High Def now, and they get some exclusives that http://apple.com doesn’t get. http://moviefone.com also gets some exclusives from time to time (or at least before the other sites)

I think Batman will be pretty kick ass. I haven’t seen Iron Man yet, but it’s do at my favorite “cheap” theater soon. Oh, and I wasn’t even aware they were making an Avengers movie.

El_Cadejo's avatar

DARK KNIGHT.

pineapple express
tropic thunder

Hancock, Harry Potter, and maybe someday (please hold the mockery!) a new hobbit movie, hopefully by Peter Jackson of course.

NOharmNOfoul's avatar

James Bond (Quantum of Solace) have to wait until November though….Urgh!

joeysefika's avatar

@stevenb i heard Peter Jackson was not directing the Hobbit; so i foresee a shit movie.

shrubbery's avatar

I heard that he is directing it, or them, as it will be divided into two movies.

joeysefika's avatar

Hmm; Two movies, thats slightly weird

shrubbery's avatar

Looked it up on imdb and oops, my bad about the director, but it does look like there’s going to be two.

“Peter Jackson has signed on as an executive producer (the same role that, comparatively, George Lucas served on Episodes 5 and 6 of Star Wars); Guillermo Del Toro will be directing the two Hobbit films. The main reasoning appears to be timetable conflicts with other directing commitments Jackson already has or has made (The Lovely Bones, Tintin).

Currently, Jackson is temporarily set to direct Tintin for Steven Spielberg, though this could change. ”

I do hope James McAvoy will be Bilbo.

shockvalue's avatar

Guillermo Del Toro is twice the director that Peter Jackson will ever be. And Peter Jackson is pretty damn good.

stevenb's avatar

Well, now I’m MORE stoked about it! Thanks for the info, I had only heard rumors. I hope Ian McKellan(sp) is Gandalf again. He was perfect.

shrubbery's avatar

Indeed he was, and yes I think he’s supposed to be Gandalf again.

stevenb's avatar

I saw it and have to say HANCOCK ROCKS!

shockvalue's avatar

Hancock was nothing like the commercials. I won’t give anything away, but suffice to say, the commercials show no further than 10 minutes into the movie and does it no justice.

El_Cadejo's avatar

@shockvalue do you think it was good?

TheHaight's avatar

@shockvalue, you really didnt state if it was good or not, just curious because I’m going to see it in about an hour.

stevenb's avatar

I liked it. It was funny and had elements I hadn’t expected, very good effects, great characters. It was different than I expected, but all in good ways. I will see it again, and buy it when it comes out.

stevenb's avatar

I know you two didnt ask me, so pardon the opinion, I just wanted to give my two cents. Let me know what you think after you see it!

TheHaight's avatar

No, thanks for your opinion stevenb. I’m def. Going to see it now! I was just confused by shockvalues answer, and you
clearly stated it rocked. :)

jlm11f's avatar

when i read shockvalue’s answer, i got the impression he thought it rocked. “the commercial didn’t do the movie justice”, i didn’t think much of the commercials so i figured he meant the movie was a lot better.

stevenb's avatar

My wife really liked it too, and she isn’t a huge superhero movie fan. She liked the hulk(new one) though also.

stevenb's avatar

It has a lot to do with personal struggle and finding your place in the world. I can relate to that at least a little bit. It has some novel ideas that I am still thinking about all day today.

shockvalue's avatar

Uh. Wow I’m jumping back into this a bit late but, yeah PnL nailed it. Sorry for the lack of clarification. The commercials basically sucked. They show some stuff blowing up, but nothing that would make you want to learn more about this character or any real plot line.

In short: It was good. Go see it.

TheHaight's avatar

Yeah I just saw it and loved it. Shock was right, the commercials werent very good! But the movie was great! And Will Smith is handsome :) I really liked it.

stevenb's avatar

Told you it rocked. I enjoyed the heck out of it. “Call me that ONE more time”

shockvalue's avatar

“asshole”

stevenb's avatar

exactly, though I liked crazy also.
