(NSFW) Guys, how does your choice of underwear affect the way you use a urinal (or toilet, or outhouse, or bush, or...)?

Asked by Strauss (23835points) February 25th, 2014

We’ve had the classic boxers or briefs discussion on other threads, but I don’t recall a conversation about the effect on peeing habits. Do you use the provided fly, or do you pull the waistband down, or pull the leg up? Do you do something completely different?

It’s in social for a reason. Let’s get some semi-serious answers before we let the jokes “fly”!

Boxers here, I use the fly. On the rare occasion when I wear briefs, I usually pull them down, the fly on briefs is too damn complicated.

My husband used to wear boxers until I convinced him to ditch the hideous garments, and now he wears boxer briefs (aka the only acceptable form of men’s underwear). He’s always pulled down the waistband.

I wear boxer-briefs most of the time and no, it doesn’t really make a difference to me. I use the fly when using public urinals, same as if I were wearing boxers. When at home, I’ll be lazier and just pull down the waistband a bit.

My fiancé picked up a couple pairs of pricey boxer briefs and liked them, so I ordered him some from Jockey to see if he liked the less expensive ones as much. He actually liked them better because they have the H-fly. and he found it easy to use. He then complained about having various fly configurations from one day to the next, so I’ve been buying more of these whenever there’s a sale, so he can wear one kind every day.
