What would happen if the "observing member" section showed the usernames of the observing members too?

If the questions knew who was observing them, they would feel better about their lack of privacy. ;-)

Ben and Andrew would have to reprogram, it’s not going to happen.

As a user it doesn’t make any difference to me about who observing.

I would not be an issue for me. Others may or may not have an issue.

Or you can think that there’s something happening for no reason at all.

I could see it now… people saying “I see you watching me Mimishu”. I bet you’re gonna say “x,y,z”... This already happens sometimes when users are crafting responses.

People would be talking to the users watching rather than answering the questions the OP asked. Total nightmare!

That would be too much “big brother (or Big Fluther, in this case) is watching you”.

That’s like saying what would happen if the sky was green rather than blue.

Nowt much, entirely pointless.

It would make me feel like I was in a slasher movie about some guy at Summer camp checking out all the girls and killing them.

And not just Jason. This is random, but I’m surprised on how many summer camp horror movies there are out there. Friday the Thirteenth, Sleepaway Camp, Camp Blood, The Burning…I’m sure the list goes on. And that’s what Fluther would be like if we could see who was observing who.
