Rye or cracked wheat, crust or no crust?
We are talking bread made of flour, I guess the use would be sandwiches but, whatever. Guess that is all about what is needed, right? Which would you chose, you really need not explain why but you can if you feel you must?

I always go Sour Dough if I have the choice.
Are there any breads that are not made of some kind of flour and do not come out of the oven with a crust? Even the gluten-free ones (which I have never tried baking) use white or brown rice flour, sweet sorghum flour or buckwheat flour and have crusts when done.
When I baked, I made white bread, similar to Martha Stewart’s version.
Rye bread, with the crust, in any capacity. Particularly ham sandwiches with smoked gouda cheese.
I like both. It depends on what’s in between the two slices. Always with crust.
I’m with filmfann. Sour Dough all the way.
Texas toast and PB and J with sliced bananas.
If we’re talking about bakery bread, I’d vote for Challah and French toast or a whole-wheat bagel with cream cheese, thinly-sliced red onion and lox. If you remove the crust from either of them, there would be not enough bread left to bother with.
The other French chef, Jacques Pépin, once said that for his last meal he would choose a freshly baked warm brioche with locally churned butter.
Rye, with crust, unless it would clash with whatever I’m eating alongside it.
Not a fan of turning a sandwich into a mouthful of gravel with cracked wheat and would much rather have a nice slice of fresh Italian loaf. But I have to have the rye with my Rubes and pastrami sammiches.
Rye here too. Mmmm Rye toast with jam. :-)
Rye with swiss…so delicioussssssssss! I do love cracked wheat crackers and bread, too, but hubs is too pick, says it’s like rocks and sticks in the bread…lol
@filmfann I always go Sour Dough if I have the choice.
Sorry, not a choice here.
@gailcalled Are there any breads that are not made of some kind of flour and do not come out of the oven with a crust?
Maybe, but not for this question
@Hypocrisy_Central Sorry, I didn’t know I woke up in Russia this morning…
Cracked Wheat, with crust. Rye is just vile.
^ There is a question out there for generic sandwich bread types, it is just not this one. So you always have a choice to find one.
