G.I.Joe 80's action figures date?
Hi, I’ve found several 80’s ¾” GIJoe action figures in a street market; I checked them and they were brand new, the joints are stiff and with no scratchs whatsoever. And the manufacture date inside the leg is from the 80’s, so I think must come from a very careful collector. Anyway, the thing is that the figures are way too new, perfectly neat as if they come right out the box; So I wonder, is there a reedition of this figures? in that case, does the manufacture date displays the original making or the reedition date?

They aren’t held together by rubber bands anymore. No matter how well they’ve been kept those rubber bands are probably dry as hell and a little brittle.
They are originals. My brother-in-law kept his stored safely, too, and gave them to his son when he went to Iran. Zane was 4, and they were his favorite toys while his daddy was deployed. Not so new anymore :-)
—oh, wait. You said the tiny ones. Still originals. Date stamps are not retro’ed unless they’re forged.
Yes! that’s why I think they belonged to a collectionsist: surely he kept them inside their displays, or in other place very carefully controlled: shade, cool, dry, etc. I know they are originals because I bought the ones I had then I was kid.
I have to keep buying because this guy had a BAG full and there were a couple ones from the early 80’s, you can tell because the figure is much much simpler than the ones from the late 80’s. AND THEY WERE SOOOO CHEAP
Did he have all of the little weapons, too?
If you need help with names or which weapon goes with which, I’ll connect you to my nephew. He became a GI Joe prodigy.
GI Joe’s date? Reminds me of the old joke where a shopper asks the clerk if Barbie comes with Ken. The clerk replied that she fakes it with Ken, but comes with GI Joe.
@GloPro no, its only the figures, but another kiosk sells a little bag with some backpacks and weapons; but if i dig a little Im sure i can find; I’ve done it before. Im kind of becoming good at it,... a toy tracker hahaha
And I found a website where they have all the info, but the forums are more about showing off their collections yojoe.com
If they are still in their boxes I think you have a good deal here. You could probably sell them on for a tidy profit, if you wanted to.
@downtide no, these are loose figures, this guy had a bag FULL. So, Im on my way out to buy some more
@GloPro Hi, I bought “Barbecue” from the Slaughter’s Marauders team; so the painting is green/brown/black with a blue helmet. The original version from 1985 is a complete red uniform with a dark gray helmet; yesterday I sat down to crack the mistery and finally found out: my version is a new version from 1989, where they relaunched the action figure using the same mold; so its a reedition.
:( I really wanted it to be ‘85. but, its a cool dude, nonetheless.
Oh and checked the rubber bands of the whole bag, and they are a little loose; not too much, but you can see some graining on the surface of the rubber. So, they are OLD :D
