Who has the Cliff Notes on the new ”Jelly button”?

disclaimer I did say Jelly button, not belly button.

I notice a new button up top that says ”Jelly beta”; what does this button do and when did it show up? Who has got the Cliff Notes on what this feature does?

Cliff note I’ve noted…the URL says the old Federated tab has returned and is disguised by the Jelly tab.
