@downtide recently made the comment that going to this special museum was nearly orgasmic. I have heard people use this term and I have myself used it….usually to describe a food I was served or prepared. I went to see a concert last Thursday night, and watching Billy Sheehan, Ritchie Kotzen and Mike Portnoy jam their asses off was one of those musical orgasmic moments.
What is an orgasmic moment for you and can you share a couple examples.

I would tell you, but you forgot the [NSFW] tag
I usually use that term when I find great joy in something that I did not expect to be so wonderful. However, just this morning being out in the perfect weather was closs to orgasmic. It was sunny, 70’s, a breeze that moved the air, but not enough to muss my hair met orgasmic levels for me. I think because it was so nice that it distracted me from the stresses I am having. My mind cleared and I was in the moment. A moment of bliss. I lingered in my car when I returned home from my Zumba class, because it was especially warm with the greenhouse effect the car creates. I opened the door a little and checked my Facebook, and then called a friend, before I finally went back into my apartment.
I have described food as orgasmic too.
I think I use awesome, glee, and blissful more ften than the word orgasmic, but maybe they are all the same.
Like a sneeze, only better.
An orgasmic experience can be had at the annual Bugger the Bigot festival held in downtown Moscow.
Spectators are elated too, smug satisfaction abounds.

I would give anything to have the ability to erase my mind for the sole purpose of re watching my favorite shows/movies/comedians; experiencing all of those emotions once again as you journey along with Walter White, Tony Soprano, The Fisher Family, George Carlin etc.
There was a time when all of these things really changed me, but now I’m waiting for something else to do that lol.
I’ve been to a few concerts that I would describe as “orgasmic”.
I like metal. I’m also a reasonably attractive female of short stature, and I clean up nice. So it’s almost embarrassingly easy for me to get from the back of the “standing room only” to the pit, and from the pit to the very front. Then after delivering a couple of smiles and one-liners, I have two or three really big metalhead dudes promising to protect me from the pit.
That way, I miss none of the sensation of the writhing crowd, I get to see the musicians close-up, and I don’t take an elbow to the face, either.
I’ve done this at (for example) Danzig, Rob Zombie, Deicide, Opeth, Katatonia, Krisiun, and many others.
On this planet? Outside of the time I actually had a real one with a woman I fornicated with, I haven’t had one.
Listening to 10 hours of this
@ragingloli If I was the girl with the brown hair I would utterly destroy the blue haired one haha.
A few concerts I would consider orgasmic. I have had a couple of downhill mountain bike rides where I was just in the groove that were like that. I have had a few meals that bordered on it also.
Are you joking? Orgasmic FOOD? Oh, puleeze. MUSIC? I don’t think so.
Now, for incredible joy only, we were having a new home built 100 miles away and were not welcome there until it was finished. Pulling up to the house, walking in the door gave me a feeling of entering Paradise (almost). Not that it was grand or anything but everything was so spotless, lovely and new.
^ That sounds like an “I’ll be glad when it’s over and all is settled” experience, not an orgasmic one.
@Aster That would certainly IMO be an orgasmic experience but you obviously are sheltered and need to get out more. I would be glad to cook for you so you can see the power of really good food, music, fine wine, dance and art.
Just boring. I only find sex orgasmic. Everything else is secondary when it comes to that particular pleasure center.
For me I think its when an experience provides a pleasure that’s experienced on a physical as well as an emotional level. Good food does it for me sometimes, so does some kinds of music. Obviously though nothing but actual sex gives me an actual orgasm. It’s just a figure of speech to describe something that’s extremely pleasurable.
@Hypocrisy_Central I’m interested to hear the experiences you’ve had on other planets… ;)
@filmfann that reminds me of a joke…
…I met a young woman and every time she sneezed, which she did quite often, she would give a little “oooh!” and shiver afterwards. I asked her why she did that and she explained that her nerves are messed up and every time she sneezed, she had an orgasm.
“Are you taking anything for it?” I asked, quite concerned.
“Yes,” she replied. “Pepper.”
@Cruiser where do you go for fine food, music and art ? And why do you think I’m sheltered? To me, sheltered means you are kept from the unpleasant realities of life. If true, I’m not sheltered . But I do stay home most of the time.
@Aster, the town where I live has a restaurant that , I can reserve a chefs table for that orgasmic dining experience…or I can cook at home for more of the same. I live outside Chicago…home of the best blues music and the Chicago Art Institute….all orgasmic experiences.
Best blues music? WTH? Better than the birthplace? Better than Memphis and the surrounding areas? This is the first I am hearing that Chicago gets credit for the best place for the blues.
@JLeslie Watch the Blues Brothers movie sometime and you will get a taste of what Chicago is famous for Blues music wise. The annual Chicago Blues fest largest free blues festival in the world, brings in the best of the worlds best Blues musicians and on top of that we have Buddy Guys Legends Blues bar that is THE place to be when Eric Clapton comes to town as he always jumps on stage there after his concerts. We also kick ass at Rock and Roll and the Chicago Symphony is one of the best in the world. They play for free in the summer at Grant Park.
@Cruiser my husband’s aunt was from Oakbrook and he is from Hinsdale. I adore the Chicago suburbs. But not the taxes or snow! I love snow but only for a couple days! lol
@Aster You are so right about the taxes and the snow and we got hammered by both this last year!
@Cruiser I learned something new. If I understand your link some of the black people who sang the blues escaped into the north back in the day and settled in Chicago. But, the history of the blues is still out of the Missisippi Delta. You can walk into a bar on Bealle Street in Memphis any day almost any time of day and hear the blues live (more at night). Memphis is the blues like Nashville is country.
High hot showers. Pink Floyd blasting and eating chocolate.
