Why am I having such hard time with Word Press?
I’m trying to create my blog there because it comes highly recommended by my friends, but it’s so clunky! Is it me or is the site just not very user friendly?

I’m trying to change the “About me” description. It shows it one way in one area, but on my public profile it hasn’t changed.
It’s now refusing to upload a picture.
Grrrrr. Need Ben and Andrew to take that site over!
The “edit” button under my posts doesn’t do anything.
Are you using Wordpress.com to host it or are you self-hosting it?
I’m not sure what you’re asking me @johnpowell.
Erg. I wish I had a simple “home” page that would take me to what the rest of the world sees.
Did you sign up with the service I linked above?
You can download the source from wordpress.org and host it on your own server. I’m wondering which of the two you did.
I see something like the first one.
It comes up with two different “About me” versions, in two different formats. The first one I call the Good One allows for paragraphs and spacing and it changes when I edit. The Bad One doesn’t
I went into the “Pages” link, and updated the About from there. Didn’t change anything. :(
I’m a bit baffled. I host my own wordpress instillation and it looks like the one they host for you does things a lot differently. I will make a account on wordpress.com and take a look. Give me about 15 minutes.
Erg. Actually, it did. It left the top one the same, then added my updated version underneath it. Under the picture.
I really appreciate your help @johnpowell. thank you.
Yep, I reentered it on the same screen you call Two. As I said, it just entered the info underneath the main About Me intro, under the picture. Here is where I’m trying to change the main About Me intro.
Repetition, and education.
Youtube is loaded with WP tutorials.
I’ve made about twenty WP sites. None of it became easy until I got schooled and repetitive.
Also, look for a WP plugin called “visual composer”. Learn it.
And just know with WP, that you will need to get into the back end code a little to make it work the way you want. Not hard. Just search and destroy.
