Big drought situation in CA. here, so, no. It is going to be a bummer season. I am not growing anything to conserve my 30% water cutbacks, tomatos, squash, cucumbers, peppers, all take a lot of water and the prices of everything are going to be driven way up with the water shortages.
It is actually pissing me off because I am seeing all kinds of people buying plants and flowers and veggies and the usual spring spurt of gardening action and I am thinking..” WTF! So YOU’RE exempt from rationing?

Our most popular local farmer’s market has imposed price supports. For example, you’re not allowed to charge less than $4 for a dozen ears of corn. So the guy with 10 acres of field corn can’t charge less than the hobbyist with ¼ acre of heritage corn. Commie pinko bastages.

YES, I’m ready for some fresh produce, although I tend to buy at Aldi year round because the stuff is cheap and as close to being ready to eat as it’s ever going to get.

I rarely frequent Farmer’s Markets (I’m a night owl, not an early bird).

Instead we buy at local farm stands and directly from farms…YUM! Can’t wait for all of them to open their places for the season.
