Did you ever buy a packaged product (perhaps not sealed) only to find out that it was empty when you got home?

You got home, opened the seemingly closed pack/box and realized there was nothing in it? I have noticed people opening stuff in stores to take a look, but how often do they nick small items and leave the box or “shell” for some poor unsuspecting customer?

I have this problem re-selling from a mall. I’ve learned that you cannot re-sell a DVD with a risque depiction of the female form on the cover. Some boy will steal the disk and leave the box.
I’ve had a few other things come up missing, but I don’t keep a really close watch, knowing that there’s nothing to be done, and it will just make me mad. :)
A handful of times at the store, bottles of wine have come in that were sealed but empty. I know it’s probably a packing mistake, but I like to think that the people at the bottling place got a little tipsy when nobody was looking.
@Haleth Lol how do you even explain that one at the store. “Uhhh yea…. when I got home I noticed my bottle of wine was empty, could I get a refund or a new bottle?” I see that going well :P
I can only think of two times a part was missing from something packaged. The package had been previously opened though and the store did not check well enough when it was returned I think.
I once bought something over the internet that arrived with a part missing. I was very surprised when they just sent me another, complete product, no questions asked. I wondered if maybe the factory had forgotten that part in a quantity of items and there was already an insurance claim.
@ibstubro Or they were just a good company. When I bought my gopro the waterproof case I got had a screwed up oring so it wasn’t waterproof. I called the company expecting to have to fight with them about it but I was off the phone in less than 5 minutes with a completely new case arriving at my house 2 days later.
