What are some of your favorite scenes from sit coms?

Asked by keobooks (14327points) April 21st, 2014

Every Thanksgiving, I post WKRP Thanksgiving Turkey Drop episode because it’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on television. And this is my favorite scene from Taxi

Are there any shorts from sitcoms that stick out in your head as hilarious? Share them here!

Do you remember the episode of Friends where Joey and Chandler and Rachel and Monica did that trivia contest to see who got which apartment?

Specifically, the question about which name is on Joey and Chandler’s TV Guide subscription.

“Actually, it’s Miss Chanandeller Bong”

One of mine is when Kramer confirms with George that he really is moving to California: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vnqBAuehmhM#t=190

The only sitcom I ever watched is Fresh Prince. I don’t have any particular favorite scenes, but here’s a sad scene. I liked that while the show was usually crazy and filled with dumb jokes, that it was also able to achieve an element of balance with non funny things. (even if it was corny and cheesy, it’s admirable)

But I am currently watching this show called Soap. An old sitcom about two families and their secrets, this show basically makes fun of soap operas. In one part a step dad and the son are having a ’‘food fight’’ in the kitchen, demonstrating on various foods how each will kill the other.

The dad grabs an egg and goes, this is your head. ’‘crush’’ Then the son goes, oh yeah, this is your body. ’‘stabs the milk carton with a knife, milk flows everywhere’’

Oh. They actually have the scene on YouTube. It’s real bad quality though…still, when I saw that part I was laughing like crazy.

This is your heart.

^^^^ I loved that part too. My daughter likes it, she has seen the show on retro channels. We just started getting Welcome Back Kotter on our favorite station. I recorded the episode when Hotsie Totsie claimed a sweathogg got her pregnant. I didn’t stop laughing from beginning to end.

Could not find number 1 one my list, so I will have to go with my second funniest.
Good old Al Bundy, you gotta love that guy.
And Homer Simpson.

Hahahahaha! I knew that scene from Taxi before I hit play. Just the first frame I knew what it was. One of the greats of all time no question!

So many running through my mind. Scenes from Soap when Bert would make himself disappear or when the sister’s talk about lying on their back to make their faces look young, and many more. MASH when Klinger is telling his escape plan and the Colonel tells him he will hit water and Klinger pulls a cord or opens a box (I don’t remember which) and a huge blow up raft opens up in the office. Designing Women has ow so many! I encourage you to you tube them. If I try to link everything my iPad will close the page, it is ready to die. I hope just me listing the sitcoms will bring back some memories to people. Big Bang Theory, Odd Couple, so many.

I don’t have time to answer right now, but this is a great question in which I plan to answer, probably this weekend. I’ve got lots of answers… Until then.

I barely remember this show as a kid, but as an adult, I love it. What’s Happenin’ and the Rerun Dance

So of COURSE I love this scene from Scrubs

The best of the best TV, ever. Sadly, there are few clips available, and even fewer that are decent quality.

Marilou Henner is the bomb!

I was never even in it. Doesn’t get any better’n that.

Frasier had so many good scenes

Hot and Foamy
Parking Lot Story

Fraiser was sometimes so witty and dense with humor that it was hard to catch everything in real time, @keobooks. Almost like when the sound and image aren’t in synch – you’re laughing at something that happened a split second ago while taking in the present.

This is the shortest clip I know of, but one that was really funny in the 90s. It may not be as funny now that this guy isn’t a celebrity anymore, but it was done well enough that it may still be a little funny.

News Radio Joey WHAT?

Sad turnout for a good question, IMO. Not a Friends or Seinfeld in the bunch,

It’s OK. We can just entertain each other.

My daughter is a big fan of I Love Lucy. She claims that her favorite is the episode when Lucy does a tonic commercial. She requires several takes, and each time slurping down a spoonful of tonic. She gets soooooOOOOOOooooo drunk on the stuff. Finally she does a take where she blurts out, “Are you unPOOPular?”
My daughter is in middle school, so poop humor is great in her book. Lucy does do a great job with the bit though, showing first disdain for the taste of the stuff, then as she becomes more accepting, she also gets less coordinated.
