Do you believe in the "wild goose chase"?
Inspired by this question and some event happening to me recently.
Do you believe that persistence can finally get us somewhere, or there can be time when we just waste time trying to get something?
Do you think there are dreams that can never be achieved?

Yes and no. I believe you must sometimes try very hard and reach just a little beyond your comfort zone to find some seriously nice treasures and opportunities.
And there are times when it is just a waste trying. When conditions are just too obviously above and beyond your abilities, and you know it.
Once you have had the dream, you achieved it. So in one sense all dreams are achieved. Sometimes you don’t get to experience the dream per se in this dimension and must be satisfied with the certain knowledge that another of your multiple personae in some other dimension is experiencing the dream for real.
It’s never about the destination, it’s always about the journey.
If you’re trying to get towards a goal and fail to achieve that goal, you’ve still gained a lot along the way. What you’ve gained will either better prepare you for your next attempt at that same goal or perhaps for a new one all together.
Your bad days are ALWAYS good data. You can always make use of them. This is a huge concept to understand and to learn to apply in life in many different ways.
Wild goose chase to me, says that you chase after something that was impossible to get, usually because what you chase does not exist, and you were fooled into thinking it does.
That said I guess it depends. If something is real, a goal or a dream, it’s worth chasing if you want it really bad. Sometimes though, maybe you gots ta set a trap, and let it come to you.
Like I got this analogy for job searching. Looking for a job is like fishing. You use the proper bait depending on what you want to catch, you must be patient, and utilize the proper techniques against the type of fish you’re going for. It takes time, but if you’re good, you’ll get the fish. Of course, success is not guaranteed. The fish could make off with your bait, your line could break or…no matter how good you are, maybe people got there before you and caught all the fish already.
Or…you could just throw a huge fucking net in there, and you’ll be sure to get SOMEthing. Probably just garbage.
Or third, you could be some lazy faker, who just sits in the boat all day drinking beer and having naps, not paying attention to the line.
Is it ok to dream? Will it hurt us if we shoot for the seemingly impossible? Well obviously not everyone will be POTUS or become a millionaire or win the lottery.
But all that in consideration we need motivated, passionate people. And in the end if someone else has to finish the dream or we fall a little short we were much farther then where you started.
And everything learned along the way… You wouldn’t take any of it back, if you are already dreaming about it then you will always wonder.
Don’t ask permission to dream be happy you have one.
Oh and work smarter not harder.
Something that cannot be achieved is just a dream. Something that is achievable is a goal. The wild goose chase is the result of poor planning and execution of ones goals.
Persistence has always gotten us somewhere, usually by mistake like looking for a way to cure cancer but inadvertently discovering a cure for polio.. One dream that most all of us experience is to somehow travel through time. (other than the time that we’re traveling through at this minute).. It’s a dream most scientists wish they could achieve but know it’s impossible.. I tell them nothing is impossible, only the manner in which you perceive the impossible.. First discover the soul then you will have the means in which to travel, not in physical form but in spirit. Impossible? Maybe not in another thousand years and the way we have progressed within the last century maybe even less than that amount of time. How ‘bout that for a dream?
I don’t “believe” in it but I’ve been on several recently.
