Was your Cinco de Mayo special?

Nope. I did hang out with a Mexican though. His mom even was born in the state of Puebla; the only place in Mexico that really bothers to acknowledge the day in any formal way.

Heck no. I’m American.

I went out for Mexican style food Sunday night, fish tacos for me, mushroom and cheese quesadilla for my date, with an eggplant and salsa dip for our chips.

I’m Mexican American descended from a campesino, so there is a little heritage pride in our fight for freedom. @BeenThereSaidThat So you’re a Native American? They fought at Puebla against the French, too.

Well, my old dog turned 14 yesterday and that was kind of exciting. His hearing is shot, eyes are beginning to glaze over but he has compensated by increasingly using his nose. As a border collie he was very visually oriented until the last year made it so much more difficult.

But on the upside, he is still with me and that is special!

No, I’m not Mexican nor do I have any reason to share or delve into the culture other than food (delicious!).

And it was a Monday. Mondays suck.
