How do you pull back a PM?

Asked by GloPro (8409points) May 9th, 2014 from iPhone

I woke up this morning and had an alert for two new PMs. When I clicked on it, I didn’t have two new PMs. How do you pull back messages?

It is accounts that have been deleted. All you are missing is spam.

You can’t that I know of. They were from the banned spammer I’m guessing.

The PMs has been… taken care of by the mods.

This happened to me too.

But I still have PMs from jellies that deleted accounts in my message feed… So the mods specifically decided my two new messages were spam and deleted them?
If that is the case I’m not saying that it wasn’t obvious spam and should not have been deleted, I’m just wondering as to someone other than me deleting my PMs.

I went back through my pm’s and found a couple from people with deleted accounts. I assume those stay and the banned people disappear.

I think there is a difference in how people that request their accounts are deleted and people that are forced to have them deleted are treated. If you ask to have it deleted it is still there and you can have it turned back on later. No data is deleted they just pretty much flip a switch so it isn’t visible on the main site. If you are banned they just nuke the entire thing like you were never here.

So if @Mimishu1995 doesn’t simmer down and they boot her, I would lose all of my fun conversation with her even if it’s been an ongoing conversation spanning several months?
Simmer down, @Mimishu1995, you troublemaker, you!

I think that banning users is extremely rare outside of spammers.

Mimishu1995 would have to fuck up pretty hard to get nuked without a lot of warnings. (I don’t speak for Fluther, I just notice trends)

I think you two are pretty safe.

Yeah, @GloPro, I would guess any ban in that case would be temporary, like 2 weeks maybe. They wouldn’t delete anything in that case, just temporarily suspend the account.

@johnpowell You’re right; it seems my PMs with wundy are gone. Lame.

I got a pm yanked as well and sounds like a spam account is behind the false alarm.

Call the MPs and they’ll take it away.

Yes, all of her PM’s would be gone, but all of her public posts that weren’t individually moderated would remain.
