We are going to have four blood moons this year. There are many myths. I would like to know something more about the myths .

A blood moon is when the .mood appears red, usually due to an eclipse. The Sun’s light passes through the earth’s atmosphere and is red when it hits the moon’s surface.
Harvest moon is the name of a moon that usually happens in September (this year on the eighth). The red you see during the harvest moon is slightl different from that of a blood moon. As I indicated above, the blood moon is occurs during an eclipse, when the sun’s rays are refracted by the earth’s atmosphere before they are reflected by the moon. The reddish hue would be apparent either from the earth or from space. Here is a good image of what this morning’s looked like. @MarvinPowell, the red you see in the picture in your link is from the moon reflecting the sun’s rays through the earth’s atmosphere, much like the sun’s rays get refracted at sunrise and sunset.
We just had one on April 16th on Passover.
We’ll have another on October 8th, during Sukkot, the Feast of the Tabernacles.
The timing is the same for 2015—a total of four blood moons, all appearing on Jewish feast days. April 4th, Passover, and September 28th, on Sukkot.
@Espiritus_Corvus The coincidence of appearing on Jewish feast days is not really coincidental at all; it is because the Jewish Calendar is lunar, and events are commemorated based on the relative phase of the moon, many of which are scheduled for full moons.
@zenveo I get the relationship between the full moon and the Jewish (lunar) calendar. I think @Espititus_Corvus was referring to the fact that the Blood Moon/Lunar Eclipses fall on those particular dates.
@zenvelo Thanks, that makes sense. I thought I was the only one who noticed. Hmph.
