What type of animal was it?
My first pet that was considered mine was a Chesapeake Bay retriever. He was a stray that we found as a puppy running along the side of the highway. I named him Lucky. That dog followed me everywhere. He was awesome. I miss that dog.

Be careful answering this. It’s a common security question.
Milu- a dog.
He was my best friend. I always share the best things with him. We even ate powder milk together :) He was pretty energetic too. We once played hide-and-seek and I lost.
There were quarrels among us too. But we always made up quickly. Best friends are always forgiving.
Well, that was 10 years ago.
Sugar and Spice (2 cats, 1 white, the other salt n pepper tabby)
@Adirondackwannabe It’s good that we aren’t on a first name basis then. I didn’t even think of that when I asked this.
I had a teddy bear named Sharon, @ucme. Still do, actually. I got her for my first Christmas.
Hops. He was a white rabbit. When airplanes would fly over he would jump and go crazy. That scared the crap out my brother and me when we were about 5.
(I do not give this answer as a security question. In fact I do not give real answers to any security question! I have a notebook, not on my pc, with supplied answers )
In what city were you born? Detroit , or Tokyo , or Chiang Rai or…
Mother’s maiden name? Smith , or Jones, or Dern, or Kim…..
Sharon being my first girlfriend, “pet” is a term of endearment we use here when in a relationship, the wife & I still use it, as do most people we know.
My sister had a french poodle that she named Luv. Meanest dog I ever saw.
two parakeets named Bill & Ben.
as an aside, I was in the Vets office yesterday and saw a file with the name “Li’l Naughty Girl” Hernandez and thought that was a little unusual
Blackie. When I was between 4 and 7, my dad rented a farmhouse and barnyard so his children would know work and responsibility, as he put it to my mom. My big brother and I were each given a chicken, a cow, a pig and a dog and we were expected to take proper care of them under my father’s guidance. To simplify things, all my brother’s animals were white and all mine were black. And to simplify things even further, I named all my animals Blackie.
I’ve never used my pet’s names in a security question and now I guess I never can.
@flip86 I love Chessies! They are great dogs.
My first pet was a gray cat with four white feet. I named him Mr. Buttons. I was a child and did not know anything about cat care, and we did not have him neutered so he ran away.
Mom says I had a cat named Smokie when I was a kid. I don’t remember that cat. I do remember Chigger, though. I got her when I was about 9. (I don’t use it as a password because that’s one of those that could change answers, depending on my mood. It’s like “What is your favorite restaurant?” Well, it depends on the moment!)
“Boots” a black & white Tuxedo kitty.
Is this your stripper name kinda thing?
The name of your first pet and the street you lived on.
Mine is a good one….
Boots Merrywood.
Yep, I was responsible for some merry wood back in the day. lolol
My hamster named Ginger was the first considered MY pet. Our first dog was named Nuisance or Nui for short. She was a doxie/terrier mix. Damn I loved that girl.
(and no, I don’t use either of these for that often asked question)
@Espiritus_Corvus Cool. The first animal in my life was our Labrador Retriever, Blackie!
And back then apparently it was not yet racist to call him Blackie.
@Dan_Lyons We got a horse from a dealer one time. His name was Nigger. We changed it in a hurry.
@Adirondackwannabe Haha..OMG! That is baaad. I knew someone back in the 70’s, when the “Roots” mini-series was popular who named his female black lab..” Kizzy”
I haven’t had my first pet yet, but I think this is a sweet question :) It’s always warm and fuzzy to hear others reminisce of their first companion.
My first pet (a Collie X) was a Lucky too. My dad found him in a bag as a tiny puppy and brought him home.
I have never used this for a security, I figured Lucky was too common a name!!
Yes, a plastic bag (bin liner type I believe). My dad was out running and some girls called him over to show him what they had found and it happened to be this little puppy abandoned in a carrier bag.
The 1st animal I had long enough to really consider her my pet was Queenie, discovered her as a kitten in my wheel well while leaving a pizza joint; good thing she was meowing or I might have drove off not knowing she was there with disastrous affects.
…...Whoa….they left the baby in a plastic bag? What is WRONG with some people?

They were unnamed. We just called the female one ‘the little cat’ and the male one the ‘fat cat.’
I had a wonderful, beautiful, intelligent, and affectionate English Setter. He was covered in rust-colored spots, so I ingeniously named him Rusty. Be nice to me; I was just 4-years-old. :-)
Concurrently, I had a cat I’d named Fluffy. Ditto on cutting me some slack for the wonderfully clever (not!) name. I had a tiny baby carriage for my dolls, and Fluffy loved to curl up and sleep in it. What’s a 4-year-old to do? Yes, push around Fluffy in the carriage and pretend that he was a doll.
Her name was Misty and she was a beautiful black and tan Doberman Pinscher. Very loyal, friendly, playful, and supremely energetic. (She used to jump over our 6 foot cinder block wall several times a week)
Your porno-star name’s supposed to be the name of your first animal companion plus the street name of your first home. I’d be Rusty Central. Actually, I think I like that.
How about you?
Mine would be Lucky Shaker.
@flip86 “Lucky Shaker” Could that possibly be any more perfect? I think you’ve been denying your true and destined career.
Tabitha (affectionately known as Tabby), a grey, medium long-haired, female cat, my family got her when she was a kitten. The name is no doubt indicative of my fascination with “Bewitched”.
@Adagio I love the old “Bewitched” series.
