I miss school, what adult things can I do to replace the attention I got in school?
Maybe go to a bar, and have a cola, or a virgin screwdriver? I don’t know. I’m tired and full of regret. I went for a walk yesterday and bought some food.

Good for you. Keep going on walks! :)
You could enrol in a class at a local community college. You’d just have to decide what you’d like to learn.
Volunteer work. You’d get more recognition as a volunteer than you did in high school.
What kind of attention? Recognition or Teaching? Either can be accomplished if you find a cause you can believe in and throw your heart into. There are opportunities all over the place for people looking to learn and serve.
What kind of attention did you get in school?
@anniereborn I was gifted and a class clown. I got to take I.Q. tests once a month on Thursdays in grade 1 – 9, and I let some real jokes rip into the class, I got a few laughs. I got my name chanted when I got into fights.
Maybe you should try stand up comedy at an open mic night.
Do volunteer work. Maybe you’ll loose some of your need for attention.
Are you in a position to own and take care of a dog? I’m being quite serious
A dog, once you’ve established the relationship, will dish out as much attention and affection as you could possibly want. On top of that, when you go out into the community with a dog, you’ll find that you suddenly have lots of casual conversations with people. It’s pretty wonderful.
^ Not sure the OP would be able to exercise and train a pet. A cat might be a better option.
@thorninmud is so right about having a dog. If you aren’t able to take care of one, is it possible to volunteer at a local animal shelter?
Community college classes are also a great idea.
Take a course in something you like. Take it from me, it’s fun to go back to school as an adult.
