Where can one find a portable fan (about 10" or so) that blows either warm or cool air?

Asked by yankeetooter (9651points) June 3rd, 2014

My friends bought several a few years ago, but now aren’t sure where they got them. The fan could be set to cool 65, cool 75, regular, warm 75, or warm 85 (or something fairly close.)

I am trying to find one of these for my friend who works in a building on the third floor. The AC cannot be fixed until the parts arrive, and it may be a bit yet. It is extremely hot up in her office, so I told her about this type of fan my friends have, but now can’t locate the fan to buy. Help!

Why does it need to blow hot air also if you need it to cool?

No, it doesn’t; I was just trying to be as specific as possible about the fan.

I have a cool little space heater that blows hot, warm and neutral but while the heating part works great I don’t think the fan function would circulate enough neutral air to make much difference. It does do a great job in my bathroom/bedroom though when it is cold and I want a quickie warm up.

If the space your friend works in is not too large see the link on my Q here for a make shift air cooler. The fans usually cost $10—$25, everything else is cheap. The fan described on my Q can be found in places like Target, Wlamart and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

I don’t see how a regular fan can be set to a cooling temperature. If you find one I would be interested to know about it.
