Did anyone know this about Marion Zimmer Bradley?
An email from her daughter, that was published yesterday, brings to light some truly awful things about child molestation and the enabling of a husband who was a serial child rapist.
Her genre (SF and Fantasy) fiction has been a favorite on my bookshelf for decades.
I’m not sure what my real question here is, mostly I am horrified.
Thoughts? Any other fans have an opinion on this?

I am aware that her husband had some dealings with a scandalously young man at some point. At the time of the affair the boy was above the age of consent (this would have been in the 60s(?), and when he began an affair with an even younger boy, she divorced him and testified against him (I believe).
The rest is news. I would like to read more from a less obviously editorial source.
I still collect Darkover novels and The Mists of Avalon still holds an honoured place on my bookshelf. I’m a member of the SCA and no matter what, she did help get the club started. No point in rewriting history – that was 49 years ago, after all.
That is so sickening. The poem My Mother’s Hands was really evocative and horrible. What a nightmarish childhood.
I used to love MZB’s books. She was a talented writer, but, apparently, a rotten human being. Yes, it will affect the way I look at her. Just like I cannot quite like any of Wagner’s music.
Wow, I had no idea. I tried to read The Mists of Avalon a couple of times, since everyone did, but found it too dry for my taste. But I always respected her because I respected the people who loved her book. Not so much now.
