How to make headbands stay in place?

Like the cloth type ones? Bobby pins and jaw clips don’t seem to help. Advice? Thanks.

Is your hair straight and fine? Mine is. Hair doo dads were a nightmare for me because everything slid out. I started braiding my hair whle it was wet, and not take it down until completely dry. It gave my hair all sorts of body, takes a curling iron better, and doo dads stay in place.
