i.e., on Fluther? Except for our resident alien and a couple of others, most jellies seem authentic – to me. What about you?

It could be that I am incapable of lying, but I take people at their word. I think there is something about the anonymity (no NSA jokes please) that allows people the freedom to really talk about themselves in an honest way.
I could be way off though.
The only thing that I question is people being allowed to have more than one ID, and change ID’s on Fluther. Mostly I’m fine with it, but more than once I’ve seen a “new” member join that was immediately radically biased against another member. Then there are the members with 666 lurve that talk about events 4–5 years ago. If you’re going to openly maintain your old bias and immediately become friends and enemies with the same members as your old ID, what’s the point?
I believe and trust everyone almost as much as they believe that I do.
With the vast majority on here, yes I do.
With a few though, it’s so easy to smell their bullshit, sticks out a mile.
Never! I learned that lesson the hard way.
Everyone gets the benefit of the doubt from me.
There’s bound to be some glossing from time to time, but my friends, neighbors, and shoe clerk do that to my face.
I assume people lie about themselves, even offline.
On Facebook: I believe 99% what people (in my friendlist) say, because I know all my Facebook friends offline (hell, they are my classmates after all). I never add any friends other than my classmates.
I’m not talking about the secret Fluther group here :p just my old Facebook account.
On Fluther: I believe about 50%. We haven’t seen each other anyway. But some people are just so nice that I get deluded sometimes.
On other sites: not one bit. I haven’t got to know any of the people there.
There are some Jellies who offer more personal details than others, so I feel like I know them better. There are some Jellies that I know on FB, so I feel like I know them better, too.
I know that it’s easy for people to lie about themselves on the internet. On Fluther, I don’t know why it would be necessary for anybody to lie. All they’d have to do is just omit details, they wouldn’t need to lie. It’s possible they’re lying, of course.
On FB, there is one person that I know of who, in real life, is crazy yet he portrays something totally different on FB. I am aware that people often portray a life on FB that is not really what they live. They post drinks or trips or sunsets, but life also consists of disputes and other things that are not glamorous.
No. Most that I read is what they would like their lives to be.
