The university is Johns Hopkins. Have you always called it, with total confidence, John Hopkins and are not embarrassed to say so?

No, but methinks someone around here did do that!
I have always called it Johns Hopkins.
First, I have never said it wrong – I used to live in the area and it was simply a known fact.
Second, I’ve been on the campus several times. Lovely place. Lots of older brick buildings and greenery.
I’ve always pronounced both esses. It’s the thing that makes it most distinctive. Otherwise it’s just a school in Baltimore. :)
I’ve always called it Johns Hopkins, and been irked when others mispronounced it. So, thank you for the public service announcement, and may it be widely read.
I’ve always pronounced it Johns Hopkins, I’ve always knew it was spelled Johns Hopkins, and my farts smell like potpourri.
I usually say it wrong simply because it rolls off the tongue more easily. It’ not something that comes up in my everyday conversation. I’ve never been corrected. Now if one lived in Baltimore or were compelled to deal with an alumnus, things might be different. Aren’t we all given tutorials on this every year from sportscasters come the NCAA basketball tournament?
No, I have called it Johns Hopkins.
I pronounced it John’s Hop Kings.
I live in Maryland, so the name’s pretty well known here.
