Would you be willing to go on an amusement park ride that takes you over 400 feet up and then drops you straight down at a speed of 90 mph?

The newest Six Flags amusement park ride – Zoomanjaro:

http://content.sixflags.com/comingin2014/greatadventure/zumanjaro-drop-of-doom/

It takes people 415 feet up in the air, straight up, and then drops them down at a speed of 90 mph. 415 feet up is about 40 stories. It’s the tallest amusement park ride in the world, I believe.

I am wondering if a drop of that type would have any negative effects on someone’s health – their brain, their eyes. I’m afraid of heights so it would probably be really thrilling for me. I love amusement park rides but I am not sure if I would want to do something so high up.

You wouldn’t catch me near the parking lot of Six Flags, let alone a ride like that.

talljasperman's avatar

No.. I am scared of most rides. I like the bumper cars.

My brother is planning to go with his friends. They talked him into it.

I’m terrified of heights. There’s no chance I’ll ever go to Six Flags.

Yaaaaaaaayyyyy of course I would! :D

To tie in with another question on the use of the “F bomb”.
FUCK NO! LOL
I hate roller coasters and other rides that cause your body and mind extreme duress, I’ll stick to Merry Go Rounds.

If I want an epic ride, I just ask the wife if she’s up for it.

whitenoise's avatar

I actually think the coaster ride that goes above and around this attraction is much cooler!

Nevah!!

elbanditoroso's avatar

Yes, as long as I had not eaten recently. I’ll try most anything once.

majorrich's avatar

Sounds like fun! I would be up for it.

GloPro's avatar

Yes yes yes… After it’s been operating successfully for a few months.

zenvelo's avatar

Sure I would do it, provided it’s not a ride that shakes you around like a rag doll.

No worse than this

syz's avatar

This is what I want to do!

KNOWITALL's avatar

NEVER. i’m a coaster girl & heights make me hurl.

FlyingWolf's avatar

Yep. I am not an adrenaline junky or anything, but I think it would be fun to give it a go once.

tinyfaery's avatar

Did it at Cedar Point. What a rush. I don’t think I’ll be doing it again. My adrenalin was so high I almost cried. Instead, I ate a bunch of sugar.

jonsblond's avatar

Wow. That is not the Six Flags that I grew up with.

I’m with @whitenoise. I think I’d rather ride the coaster that goes up and over. That looks crazy.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

You bet your ass, I love that stuff!

If anybody wants a good ride that is somewhat similar, go on the ride that is at the top of the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. Very scary being so high up above the city and hurtling into the sky even further. Just thinking about it makes my heart race.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

@jca I wanted to do that so bad. I got married on the stratosphere tower. It was not operating at the time for whatever reason

jonsblond's avatar

Heck no @jca. I grew up there and I know how nasty the winds can be. I would be so scared!

SecondHandStoke's avatar

@Pachy

Six Fags’ parking lot is much more dangerous.

ibstubro's avatar

Once, maybe, to prove that I could.

I was never afraid of heights until I rode a similar ride at the top of the Stratosphere in Vegas. It ruined me, and I’ve been afraid of heights since. This one might break me of that? lol

Jonesn4burgers's avatar

No…. no….no….. no…. no….. no….... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not even for a million dollars. I rather prefer the Small World ride at Disneyland. Dropping is one of my all time fears. That’s why I don’t fly anymore. When I was 7, a plane I was flying on, dropped several thousand feet. I don’t go near anything that drops, except for cappuccino machines.

AshlynM's avatar

No way. I’ll stick to rollercoasters.

jca's avatar

@jonsblond and @ARE_you_kidding_me: The ride at the top of the Stratosphere doesn’t operate on windy days.

dxs's avatar

You know what, I think they should just throw people off 400ft cliffs and see if they survive. The ultimate thrill.

ibstubro's avatar

I rode the roller coaster around the outside of the top of the Stratosphere first, and I was good with that. The split second were my butt left the chair, mid-air, on the needle thing gave me a little panic attack that I’ve never completely gotten over, @jca.

dxs's avatar

@ibstubro I went up there when I was 12 or so. I remember telling myself on the elevator ride up that I’d be going on one of the roller coasters but when I actually got there I nearly shat my shorts. I blamed it on the over-the-top price.

ibstubro's avatar

I rode every roller coaster in Vegas, @dxs, damn the price.

Bethanfluther's avatar

Absolutely not.

dxs's avatar

@ibstubro Have you heard they’re building a new ferris wheel with party cabins?

ibstubro's avatar

I’m ‘over’ the heights thing, @dxs. lol
