Plays well with others.
Listens and follows directions.
Can write his name.
Can tie his shoes.

I aced the first 3 but got dinged for the fourth. (I know how to do it now.)

@LuckyGuy I still can’t change my shoes the right handed way… My mom tied my shoe 2 years ago and I slip on my shoes. I still have the same shoelace tied by my mom. (I’m left handed)

I still remember the mark on my report card. All the teacher’s marks were in the left hand (best) column – except for the ability to tie my shoes. Fail!
This is why they invented Velcro.

I thought pregnancy was why they invented velcro shoes.
I don’t think anyone worries about who’s above average in kindergarten. We all progress in different directions at that age. All they care is can this child meet the challenges presented in the first grade.

I did repeat kindergarten, though not as as adult and not for being unable to tie my shoes. The school district had a shortage of kindergarten students, so they told parents they could send younger children. It was somewhat disconcerting to have to repeat kindergarten while others went on to first grade. There was not much new that I learned the second time around.

I don’t play well with others, so I’d fail there.
