Is this a normal response to quitting smoking?
I have recently decided to quit smoking again but this time is different. I have this awful chest pain and just kind of congested feeling. I feel terrible to be honest and its only been 10 hours since my last fraction of a cigarette.

Your body is craving nicotine, this can manifest itself in a variety of ways, different for everyone.
The good news is, 99% of it is in your head & will ease & eventually pass in time…good luck.
I had no such response to quitting smoking, but everyone is different. Chest pain is something that should be discussed with a physician, the stress that sometimes goes with quitting could be causing anxiety. You say you are feeling this way after only 10 hours? That may be indicative of something else entirely, as that is really not very long to go without a cigarette, especially if you had a night’s sleep in there.
I quit by reading The Easy Way To Stop Smoking and had very little anxiety. He addresses the emotional aspect of quitting, and things you can expect. It’s been a few years since I had my last cigarette, after smoking a pack a day for decades.
Good Luck with this!!!
Feeling awful is normal. The chest pain however I would treat as a separate symptom and get check by the doc.
Feeling like Death is normal. My dad’s skin turned green. But with chest pain you should really take a stress test after you speak with a cardiologist.
It could very well be just a reaction to breaking a seriously bad habit. (withdrawal)
NO chest pains aren’t normal. try an ecig or another aid, cold turkey can really stress your mind & body.
Yes it can be. Your body is finally getting a chance to clear out that crap. It’s normal especially if you were a heavy smoker or did for a long time. Do see a dr, it’s always good to be careful. Are you using nicotine replacement like patches or gum? If so go to the Dr asap.
When I quit I coughed more for the next week than I ever did smoking!
