Where are the unaccompanied children crossing the boarder staying now?
This was prompted by a q on FB asking why FEMA isn’t taking them in. I said it was probably because Congress hasn’t declared them refugees yet, but I don’t know that for a fact. Has Congress declared them refugees and IS FEMA housing them?
Please provide links that I can share.

I can’t find the link but a large building was remodeled somewhere. Each room has a flat screen tv, nice beds, fresh paint and the whole thing looks great.
I heard there are 30,000 of them. No building big enough to hold them.
I think they were bussed to various towns across the US. The NY Times had an article about one town that didn’t want them. The town’s politicians were saying it would be too much for the school, with the people and the services required. I know my school system (a great little system in a primo area) has about 45–60 kids in each grade, so obviously even a handful of kids in each grade would be a big difference and probably require a hiring of at least one teacher per grade.
They aren’t refugees. They were illegally invited and accepted the invitation. I don’t know what’s next but I would irritated as heck if they were being housed in my state.
They’re children. Just children. Little human beings and they need help.
Out of curiosity, are you pro-life too, @MollyMcGuire?
And just as a matter of interest, what is an illegal invitation and how does it differ from a legal invitation to illegally cross a border?
Why would it irritate you if they were being housed in your state? Is it just the tax money?
Does it bother you that Congress cannot come up with funds to take care of these kids humanely but can always fork over more cash for Israel to use to kill Palestinian children?
I think it’s an “illegal invitation” because the kids came here “illegally.”
I know you weren’t talking to me, but I’d have NO problem with them being housed in my state, or even in my house.
