Who keeps Facebook sites that lie constantly and why do they do it?

There are many Facebook pages that lie about many things mostly the national news. One is americannews.com . For instance, today they say “three hundred Texans killed at the border by Mexicans.”
Who is doing this and what’s in it for them?

Some people like to think that these sites prove their twisted thoughts of how the world is shaped. Most believers of the “news” on these sites have no critical thinking capabilities. Some of the followers of these sites also think they have been abducted by aliens.
