Having a deep hug/embrace.
Caring for toddlers.
They never sleep and they never leave your side.
Being heard and understood.
Having a steady and respectable income.
Farting in a packed to capacity lift/elevator, they just know it was you.
The moment when you know a romance has begun.
Meeting an old friend’s eye when thinking the same thing.
Meeting with old friends. And I second looking after toddlers and preschoolers. I’ve never been happier in my life or work than I have been working at daycare. Having a bunch of little ones run up to you for hugs when you get to work is so much better than sitting in an office with an asshole boss.
Self-acceptance.
Until I learned to accept myself as I am, I was perpetually lonely – whether alone, in a crowd, or in a lover’s arms.
Since finding contentment within, I have not felt lonely – whether falling in love, being dumped for not being attractive enough, or when dealing with a personal crisis on my own.
Companionable solitude. The description may not make sense to others but it makes perfect sense to me.
