I could, but that’s not how I roll.
Yeah – and between Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and Wise potato chips, I’m rolling a bit too much lately!
I can do that very easily… when it’s the last potato chip in the bowl / bag / house.
@CWOTUS Or state? Would you drive to NJ for a chip?
Hah! I caved yesterday and bought my one chippy weakness which happens about 2x a year. Puffy Cheetos. haha I just ate about 47 of them. bad me, bad. They are best “aged”, allowed to go stale for about 36 hours. lol
I can if I’m at work and someone else has a bag of a new brand or flavor of chips that I’m offered.
If I bought the bag, myself, I would not stop at one. If there are chips set out in a bowl on the break room table, that are meant for everyone, I’m not likely to stop at one.
If they were yucky, low fat, baked, no salt tortilla chips, I would probably stop at one, once I figured out that’s what they were. They’re cardboard flavored.
I can never eat just one—which is why I rarely buy them anymore. When I do feel like having them with a home-made burger or hotdog, I’ll buy one of those short cans of Pringles, intending to eat half one day and half the other. I never make it to the second day.
Can’t abide Pringles. Give me Wise potato chips or give me death!
^ At last! Someone with principles!
What time range are you discussing? An hour, a day, a week?
If I take the time to open a bag I will take more than one. Otherwise the energy expended in opening the bag is more than the calories in the chip. I will take a few to fine tune the energy balance.
I go weeks without eating potato chips.
@LuckyGuy I do too. I don’t eat them when I didn’t buy them and I don’t buy them very often.
I couldn’t even eat one Pringles chip, yuck! I’m a Kettle Chips kinda gal. I’m afraid that with the salt and vinegar Kettle Chips, you might have to ask me whether or not I could stop at one bag rather than just one chip LOL.
Is this a challenge? Do we donate the package afterwards?
I could. I would not enjoy it, though. When I eat crisps, I like to stuff about four of them in my mouth if no-one’s watching. It gets messy.
@LuckyGuy “Otherwise the energy expended in opening the bag is more than the calories in the chip.”
Huh. You may have rid the world of obesity. Buy your chips individually-wrapped, people!!
Yes. Since I changed my eating habits 20 months ago, I will not eat more than one potato chip at a sitting. I will buy chips for my kids, and take one and one only. That’s all I need.
YEs those new capuccino ones are nasty. Now the wasabi ginger chips are da bomb.
@LuckyGuy I think you can have one additional chip. All that thinking and calculating – even if only in your head – must have cost an additional caloric expenditure. Plus winter’s coming on, so there’s that added insulation to think of, too.
I frequently go months without eating a chip, and then I read from @zenvelo that he can eat just one when more are available, and I chide myself for my seeming pride in not buying a bag a week. Amazing.
No. I don’t buy them for my house, because I may eventually end up eating them. If I am at a party or meeting, I will eat more than one. I like them with dip, too, when it’s available.
I also like popcorn. Same thing. I try not to buy it because I will eat it. I did buy a big bag at Costco a few weeks ago, probably because it was on sale, some organic low-fat stuff. It’s been unopened in the trunk of my car since I bought it.
Yes, that’s how I find out how long the bag has been half open for.
@janbb, I don’t much like Pringles, either. I do like the little canisters.
I’ll grant you they are cute.
Hell no, I’ve never heard such a stupid question! ~
