Have you been pleasantly surprised by an act of random kindness by a complete stranger, lately?

I generally am the actor, rather than the actee. I do a lot of mini-acts, usually at the supermarket or the toll booth.

Last week I had taken my dog to the dog beach and in the process of getting back into the car (and emptying my pockets of dog toys) I dropped my driver’s license somewhere near the curb. A stranger picked it up, looked at the picture, and looked around to see if I might still be in the vicinity. He spotted a guy toweling off his dog who looked a little like me (the guy, not the dog). The guy happened to be the owner of my own dog’s BFF, so he took my license and dropped it by my house. Happiness and gratitude ensued.

Same as @gailcalled for me. Personally, I think the bar for random kindness has dropped considerably. Here are three examples I recently experienced:

- A driver on a cell phone managed to hit his brakes in time before sideswiping me.
– After calling and re-calling me at least 25 times, a magazine subscription company appears to have finally removed me from the list.
– My doctor promised to reprimand the nurse who gave me another patient’s negative test results on the phone.

Yes. As I was leaving the bus and, at the same time, my purse, several people yelled for me to wait. They passed me the purse, which was great – but what I found surprising was the half-a-dozen strangers smiling and waving as the bus drove off :]

Yes. To complicated to explain as I have to go now, but, suffice it to say, yes!

Nah, just the opposite lately.
