What famous person's poster did you hang up on your wall during puberty?
Somebody told me they had a James Taylor picture up and I decided this is an aspect of human behavior I needed to understand better.

I had a James Taylor poster too! Sweet Baby James.
The band KISS, guitarist Jimmy Page, and Spider-Man.
We were not allowed to hang anything on the walls. There were 4 pictures hung, as best I remember – three in my parent’s bedroom and one above the couch in the living room.
Given the chance, there’s no doubt I would have had a poster of author Stephen R. Donaldson’s cover art, a Ray Bradbury: picture or cover art, and a couple traditional posters of the time.
I liked football – i had a Peyton Manning fat head (those huge life size “stickers”). When he played for the Colts, of course.
I also had Jim Morrison up on the wall and a card board cut out of Elvis. I was not the average teeny bopper in 2002.
I did not hang up any posters.
In my room I had a rotating bunch of the current teen idols of the era (1978–1982 roughly): Shaun Cassidy, Andy Gibb, Scott Baio and Erik Estrada were the most popular for me. John Travolta was also big (remember this is right after Saturday Night Fever).
Jessica Alba (I was 14 in 2005), Dan Marino, and Jack White
I had M. C. Escher’s Relativity hanging on my wall .
No wonder I turned out a little different.—
Or maybe I liked the poster because I was already a little different.
@rockfan
Was Jessica Alba not a former Porn Star?
None. I had the Periodic table of Elements (chemicals) on my wall.
I had theater posters on my walls.
@ragingloli lol no, she was a former television actress
@ragingloli
The breakout role for Jessica Alba was in Dark Angel (200–2002) as Max, a transgenic who, along with about a dozen of her siblings escaped from a laboratory which has designed them to be soldiers and assassins.
The story picks up years later in a post-Apocalyptic USA following an EMP detonation where she ekes out a living as a bicycle courier and tries to locate the siblings with whom she escaped.
It was a relatively short lived Sci-Fi series (only two seasons) but extremely well done and creating it’s own unique little cyber-punk kind of world.
It was created by James Cameron and Fox (in it’s usual short sightedness) canceled it prematurely just as it was building a following.
It is still fondly remembered today.
Oh yeh, a few other notable actors who found huge success in later series were Jensen Ackles and Michael Weatherly (Tony from NCIS).
If you can find it on Netflix or for rental somewhere you’d likely enjoy it. It was a very well done sci fi series with a lot of originality.
@Buttonstc – was she better in Dark Angel than she was in Fantastic Four? Because she was just awful – not remotely believable – in the FF movies. Bimbo blonde.
Well, that’s up for debate. A lot of people, me included, felt that she was more window dressing and basically had one “look” upon which she relied far too heavily; which is best described as “pensive pouting”.
She didn’t have much range as an actress. I think she was basically successful because of her looks.
But the plot and storyline is what I found fascinating as well as some of the auxiliary characters from the courier agency.
And the set decoration was spot on also. Jensen Ackles didn’t appear until the second season but I think his acting range did a much better job of portraying what these transgenic kids were going through.
And they also had a couple of convincing baddies hunting them: John Savage and Nana Visitor (DS-9) both veteran character actors.
Weatherly was also good but oh so serious, which the role mandated (unlike the more
nuanced part he now plays withthat dash of rakish humor as a break from the serious.)
But, Alba was at least tolerable and didn’t totally screw up what was a really fascinating storyline and unique little fiction world created by Cameron and his team.
I’ve never had a famous person’s poster, why would they give it away like that?
Unless you stole it of course, but that would be wrong.
They do sell them you know.
:D
I did not have posters but there may have been some magazines carefully hidden
We were huge fans of M. C. Escher’s, @LuckyGuy!
I had a few 80s pop stars who I thought were particularly worthy of staring at whilst in bed; John Taylor (of Duran Duran), Howard Jones, Paul Young and Kate Bush.
@downtide: I used to like The Ramones and Ben Orr from The Cars.
I had a huge poster of the Beatles on my ceiling. The Bay City Rollers were on my wall and Peter Frampton was on my closet door.
@chyna My brother had Farrah Fawcett in his room.
“Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold.”
I so loved that movie !.
^Great book, great movie and a bunch of cute guys to stare at while their pic is hanging on your wall.
Okay, I admit it. When I was 9/10 I had This guy on my wall. But he was gone by the time I was in junior high.
Oh yeah…just remembered I had a Bruce Lee poster.
I was into detective shows-Pierce Brosnan and Bruce Boxleitner
