Do you know any men who have had lots of children with lots of women?

it’s bloody retarded, and if he’s in the US they will dog him till the end of his years for child support. My ex has 4 children by 2 women, but we have provided our kids a magical life by having good and stable jobs. He has been responsible and so have I, and the other mum. It’s just bloody stupid. And child support is no joke, he will be paying lots, forever.

Sounds like an episode of Law & Order: SVU. No, I’ve never known a guy like that. If I did, I doubt I would be his friend. What a jackass – and I have nothing better to say about the women allowing him to do it.

I disagree with @livelaughlove21 – the guy in question (I believe he has 34 offspring) is acting in an anthropologically traditional role – he is spreading seed for the enhancement and strength of the tribe as a whole.

In 2014 this is frowned on—in 1000 BC, this was absolutely a way to strengthen the tribal unit and thereby assure the long term survival of the clan.

So disapprove all you want, but this guy is playing a very long-standing and traditional role.

@elbanditoroso People in 1000 BC did a lot of things that don’t make sense in 2014. That doesn’t mean we should model ourselves after them. Having 36 children in 2014 isn’t strengthening shit. Just more kids out there with bad and/or absentee fathers – as if we don’t have enough of those already.

I’m amazed he can find women willing to do it with him. What inducement does he offer? Money? Fantastic parts? Great pickup lines?
I just hope taxpayers aren’t paying for this.

What I don’t understand is why these women are allowing it to happen.

I know such a man. He has had (and left) four families, having three or four children with each wife. He’s sort-of nice looking, is funny and intelligent and has charisma like nobody’s business. He is very difficult to resist. After he divorced his first wife (she refused to have more children) he cut off his parents and sibs as well, saying it was because of their fondness for her and the grandchildren.
He then dropped out of sight, marrying, fathering many children, divorcing, and moving on.
This was all happening in the days when it was much more difficult to track any individual. No social media, computers were not nationally networked, and it was before the term “deadbeat dad” came into usage.
I knew him with his last family, and he was only found out because his sister was vacationing in the city where he lived, and ran into him.
His youngest child is twenty something, and he will likely be tied up in court for years with all the suits.

In the small city that I used to work in, doing Child Welfare (CPS), there was a guy who had about 20 offspring. This guy made girlfriends out of these women and they all willingly had his babies. The last girlfriend he had, that I know of, had a few babies with him and then went to rehab, and now I believe they are still together. That mother was on welfare, not sure about the rest and I’m not sure how the man handled child support.

There was also a prostitute in this city who gave birth to (at last count 5 years ago) 13 babies from her pimp. CPS would go right into the hospital and pluck them out and put them into foster care. The prostitute mother was also a crack addict. Your tax dollars at work.

I seriously doubt he will be the kind of father his kids will want to care for in his old age and no, I do not know any men like this, and wouldn’t associate with his kind anyway.

The fellow I knew supported each of his children, not just financially. He spent time with each woman and her children. He was sweet, and attractive. He was partner in his father’s thriving business. There were no support suits last I heard. This was thirty years ago. I didn’t keep in touch when I left home and moved on with my life. He had a dream of being an Olympic marathon runner. I imagine he could have been good, he sure seemed to have plenty of stamina. He didn’t pursue hid dream though, because he loved his babies, and wanted to be there with them.
From these answers, I would say it does happen, sometimes because a man really loves babies, some because a man wants sex, and doesn’t give a hoot what will be the outome.
I was so very stunned to learn of his brood. I knew him for a while before I knew of it all. He told me I was too young for him to include me, he had his rules. He wanted me to know, so that if I wanted to consider being one of his women later, he would gladly introduce me to the women and children he had so far. I told him it wasn’t for me. I played another sort of role in his life. When he wanted someone to talk with, sort things out, he came to me. Sometimes it would be midnight. I would see his work truck out front of my house, so I would go out. He would lay across the seat with his head in my lap, and talk for sometimes hours. I never met a sweeter man. It really blew me away the life he had. It still does.
jca, I suppose the subject would sound just awful to you, since you work with CPS, but his kids were cared for. I sure can’t imagine what the beginning of the school year got to be like eventually, when all his kids got old enough to attend.

In the County I work for, if you are deemed “able to work” but you don’t have a job, you’ll have to do 21 hours per week community service. Can be anything from mopping floors to clerical work. No worky, no money.
