What's your week look like?
On Friday I’m having out-patient arthroscopic surgery to remove scar tissue from my total knee replacement a year ago. Before then, I work on my to-do and count-down list, again. I start with Milo’s $$$ Rx cat food and the fact that I forgot to get my car inspected. Then it’s déja vu. Will you be having more fun than I this week?

No, I guess not. I just have to go for my next rabies shot on Thursday. That’s my high point for the week. :)
I’m off today and tomorrow. I’m having routine bloodwork drawn today. We’re going to the Phillies game tonight.
Tomorrow, a new dishwasher is being installed, and I have a meeting to discuss a desired shift of direction in life (positive vibes, prayers, and best wishes are gladly accepted).
The rest of the week will be routine, other than possibly having my appointment to go over the lab results.
I hope all goes well with the arthroscopic surgery, @gailcalled.
@Adirondackwannabe, I hope that goes as well as it possibly can, too.
@hearkat Here come some very nice vibes, a prayer, and best wishes. It should be fine. The first round was the rough one.
@hearkat: Milo asked me to tell you he will double up on his “Wellness and Positive-vibes” dance to include you. And I will do a little hobble-wobble in your honor.
I was feeling great but thrown a bit of a curve ball last night that has me grumpled. Today is aquacise and home chores, then possibly a concert on the boardwalk unless I decide I need to avoid someone. Tomorrow through Thursday are library work days, Tuesday night Meditation class, Wednesday night book club, and Thursday night walking club. Not a bad line-up.
I’m still having trouble breathing but my new insurance doesn’t kick in until next week, so I’m spending my days sleeping and laying on the couch because it’s the only thing that helps.
We have a garden full of veggies that need to be picked and my daughter starts with her after school activities this week. The timing could not be worse.
I’ll be thinking of you Gail. Hang in there.
@jonsblond I can’t diagnose you of course but it just sounds like it might be more than anxiety attacks. I hope you get medical care soon.
@gailcalled Presumably, the recuperation will be a little easier for this?
@jonsblond I had a couple of attacks that were similar, but having trouble breathing. We finally walked through everything and it was an allergic reaction. I’ve been on a steroid spray since then. It’s pretty rough. Good luck.
@jonsblond – Do you have any allergies or asthma, or history of them in your family? Have you tried Mucinex/guaifenesin? It’s over the counter and doesn’t have the side-effects of decongestants or antihistamines. Just a thought. I hope you feel better soon.
@Milo&Gail and @Adirondackwannabe – Thanks for the positivity!
@janbb; A few days only on pain meds, 4 weeks of moderate PT but much simpler. The house is already set up for my temporary decrepitude, and i have walkers, canes, shower seats, toilet boosters, long-handled sock putter-oners, grabbers on every floor and good ice packs and heating pads.
Here we go again! But I trust it will be faster and less painful a recovery this time.
It will and it better be. At least the long-range weather forcast looks very nice.
@gailcalled: You’re right. Weather-wise, you picked a good time of year to be home and hobbling. Not too hot, not cold at all, nice and fall-like temps.
I’m looking forward to my week. Lots of tutoring, which I usually am excited about once I’ve finished the prep. Tomorrow, I’ll be with the one kid I’m having trouble with…but a library visit afterwards will cheer me up.
Apart from that, I’ll be at the dog training center twice. On Friday, I’ll probably be out with friends – toasting you, @gailcalled – and on Sunday, I’m going to a local fair.
Right now, I’m debating whether to make banana bread right away, or wait until tomorrow.
Tomorrow is my first day of my audiology clinical where I’ll be working with real patients – I’ll be doing a full hearing test so I’m pretty excited about that.
Studying. Studying a little more. Countless cups of coffee. What else… studying maybe? Yup. fun times. Yaaaay. I try to stay focused but there’s all this life out there and it distracts me. Uh.
Work-wise, a few meetings, including a Tuesday night meeting (tonight).
Also tonight, I went to vote in the primary.
Not the most exciting week but that’s life.
I’m kind of happy that it’s not too hot but I’m kind of sad that cool temps mean the end of summer, which means we’re sliding into winter.
Also, I just found out through my Facebook stalking that one of my classmates from high school passed away. Not sure how but I was telling someone that I guess I’m at that age, where people I know are going to be dropping like flies (I’m 48). LOL.
BTW, @janbb, I did exactly that. It was delicious, and…there’s still leftovers!
Amusing myself post knee-surgery, I have discovered some new verbs.
“I helped Joan Rivers wardrobe.”
“He overnighted.”
“The building was arsoned.”
“They were testosteroned up.”
“To plastify.”
Vicodin is not as much fun as I had hoped. Two pills and I have gotten the point. So I am sticking to the Motrin.
Sweet potato and oatmeal are the magic foods for now.
@janbb You’re welcome to. I’m feeling down today, and banana bread with a friendly penguin sounds lovely!
@longgone We will peck it to crumbs, you know!
Can anyone get in on the bread? I have my last rabies shot Thursday. God they hurt so bad. Not the shot but the side effects.
@Adirondackwannabe Sure. You and @janbb can carpool. I got rabies shots a couple of years ago, but they were not that bad. What kind of side effects are you dealing with?
Seven other days that are not today.
