If you could choose one food to be magically calorie free, what would it be?

Asked by rockfan (14632points) September 9th, 2014

For me, it would be pizza hands down. What about you?

You’re going to hate me. I need my calories, I need to gain some weight. But if it was a food, pizza would be it.

@Adirondackwannabe Even the calories in doughnuts and cake?

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

I ate six doghnuts last week, and never gained an ounce. I’m not so big on cake, although coffee cake is good.

Any bakery item. Danish, cinnamon rolls, croissants, breads, bear claws, donuts, etc., etc. Oh, and almond horns, Linzer torte, Black Forest cake, St. Honoré cake, pumpkin pie, petit fours…
In Solvang there’s this bakery that makes something they call the Kringle. Oh, my.
And on Maui, there’s this bakery called Komoda that makes the best cream puffs I’ve ever had.

Either Mexican Food or Pizza!

@Adirondackwannabe Ha, I made the mistake of asking n husband this question without thinking that he’s currently bulking and needs to eat 4000 calories/day just to gain half a pound a week. He said he’d rather pick a food to be double to calories so he wouldn’t have to eat as much throughout the day. Must be nice to have such problems!

It’s kind of a pain in the ass. I have to eat a ton just too maintain what I have, I got the flu earlier in the year and dropped 10 pounds in no time. And I didn’t have 10 pounds to lose.

livelaughlove21's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe I have no sympathy for you. :)

French fries!

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@livelaughlove21 Laughs. We all have our burdens. I’m going to make a milkshake.

Potato chips, so that nobody would object to my addiction.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

What kind of potato chips?

janbb's avatar

What a dilemma! Potato chips, ice cream, french fries (good ones) or Baby Ruths. Oy – I think my mind is splitting.

Mimishu1995's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe Anything, as long as they are fried potato chips.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Ever tried baked?

Brownies!!!

zenvelo's avatar

Either tiramisu or affogato. Or better yet, Tiramisu Affogato.

SavoirFaire's avatar

Either pizza or ice cream. I crave ice cream more often, though, so I think I’d go with that if I really had to choose.

Hypocrisy_Central's avatar

I don’t care about calories as they no not affect me. So…..since it makes no difference, and I will never eat them anyhow, I say mountain oysters.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Pizza, for me as well.

kritiper's avatar

Chocolate, without question!

2davidc8's avatar

@zenvelo I second the tiramisu affogato!!

I worry more about cholesterol than calories, so if taking away the calories also means all the other “bad” goes away also then for me it is a toss up between pizza and linguine with meat sauce with melted mozzerella. The linguine dish is a major comfort food for me and I almost never eat it anymore.

Chocolate.

Hell, if beer was calorie free I’d weigh about 5 pounds!

gailcalled's avatar

@SavoirFaire: Pizza á la mode.

rojo's avatar

@gailcalled with a very smooth porter.

gailcalled's avatar

^^ Not for me, thanks. But be my guest.

SavoirFaire's avatar

@gailcalled Genius! But no less than is to be expected of you.

deni's avatar

I only care about pizza if it’s Vincents Pizza in Pittsburgh. Otherwise I’d take Ben and Jerry’s Karamel Sutra FOR SURE. I love that shit but god you’re fatter the next day when you eat it I swear.

janbb's avatar

@deni Me too – I love it! Have you tried their new Salted Caramel Core? That’s great too.

downtide's avatar

Definitely pizza. No question.
