“Science fiction romantic comedy.”
Really worth watching imo. Pacing is perfect for me. It delves into universal human longing and connection in odd yet quite familiar ways.
Weird, lovely, imaginative, certainly worth seeing. It did leave me slightly unnerved by its view of where interpersonal communications seems to be heading. On a scale of 10, I gave it a 7.5, maybe 8.
I thought the first half was great. The second half was shit. I actually paid to see it in a theater and I regretted it.
And I like most movies.
I’ll just throw in that a coworker enjoyed it, among other reasons, for it’s employment of the “normcore” fashion trend.
I always find it interesting that one person’s “shit” (perhaps not the most erudite or helpful of movie reviewing words) is another’s “delves into universal human longing and connection in odd yet quite familiar ways” (with which I agree).
As a lifetime movie lover who has a website and writes reviews for a magazine, I love pointing out what I consider the strengths of movies I don’t like and weaknesses of the ones I like.
After this, I must see it. Thank you all for the input. Is the dispute here taking on the aspect of guy flicks vs. chick flicks? I know the basic plot of the film, and I know men are reputed to give short shrift to movies dealing with emotions. We’re going on Friday.
Rated H for heartwarming.
You have been warned.
